I'm not sure what to think of this.

This is, if anything, the beginning of the end for the simpsons. Groening's really losing it now.

Some random black clerk? I haven't followed the Simpsons too closely lately, did Hibbert lose his license?

This episode was surprisingly not that bad, some of the jokes were actually funny. Don't remember laughing at a new Simps in a while. Also like how they keep some sort of continuity with Homer in highschool in the 70s, that 90s show ep was terrible. This is exciting times!

horrible attempt at slapstick and references to earlier episodes

this show survives solely on its name by now

Not too bad, but yeah, The Simpsons has become a complete parody of itself at this point.

Television like everything else evolves with times and taste and I am not going to have a baby over this

Ugh... Groening loves shitting on the Simpsons.

This should be the last season wherein the series ends by Homer saying "I have to go now, my planet needs me," followed by him disappearing into the sky in like three frames and a message that says "Note: Homer died on the way back to his home planet." That is the only dignified way to end the series.

The new intro wasn't bad. Nothing obscenely terrible that makes me think "Groening is shitting all over the Simpsons". But I never kept up with the show a whole lot to begin with. I'm assuming the couch part won't last so long in later episodes of the season.

does Groening even have anything to do with it anymore?

He refused to put his name on the episode that had The Critic in it, which makes me think he wouldn't allow his name to be on this bullshit unless he were okay with it.

That episode was actually really good. I wonder if this show will ever get cancelled, though.

or tomacco juice.

are we really dissecting the new intro for continuity errors.

All this aside, the show needs to just end. :( As it stands the Simpsons is just some really shitty cartoon with mediocre/stupid humor. It's a ripoff of a ripoff. The best thing that happened to Futurama was that it didn't drag on beyond its prime. I guess people still watch new Simpsons episodes though, so they'll continue making whatever shitty product they can as long as there's a market. It would seem my issue is valuing quality over profitability.

They should just bring back Futurama.

I'd be a little worried about quality... but I'm sure it'd be profitable.
