I'm not sure what to think of this.
Sonic Johnny 02-16-2009, 08:47 AM This is, if anything, the beginning of the end for the simpsons. Groening's really losing it now.
severin 02-16-2009, 08:48 AM simpsons and hd for me will always be the episode where krusty's show is presented in hdtv and all the kids run away screaming...
also: hibbert as cashier?

Or some other black character?
severin 02-16-2009, 09:10 AM Or some other black character?
which one? not carl, he is not bulky enough
Some random black clerk? I haven't followed the Simpsons too closely lately, did Hibbert lose his license?
Trotskilicious 02-16-2009, 09:47 AM i liked it, still incorporates the original one.
Thaniel Buckner 02-16-2009, 10:41 AM i like that marge is buying tomacco juice.
Sylvia Woods 02-16-2009, 10:49 AM This episode was surprisingly not that bad, some of the jokes were actually funny. Don't remember laughing at a new Simps in a while. Also like how they keep some sort of continuity with Homer in highschool in the 70s, that 90s show ep was terrible. This is exciting times!
Toast 02-16-2009, 10:55 AM at least lisa's sax isn't purple and blue anymore
publius clodius 02-16-2009, 11:20 AM horrible attempt at slapstick and references to earlier episodes
this show survives solely on its name by now
Tchocky 02-16-2009, 06:13 PM Not too bad, but yeah, The Simpsons has become a complete parody of itself at this point.
ohnoitsbonnie 02-16-2009, 06:22 PM Television like everything else evolves with times and taste and I am not going to have a baby over this
You guys are witnessing art, the true inner workings of the mind of a madman
duovamp 02-16-2009, 07:21 PM Ugh... Groening loves shitting on the Simpsons.
This should be the last season wherein the series ends by Homer saying "I have to go now, my planet needs me," followed by him disappearing into the sky in like three frames and a message that says "Note: Homer died on the way back to his home planet." That is the only dignified way to end the series.

haha :banging:

That is incredibly awesome.
TheMilstead 02-16-2009, 07:57 PM The new intro wasn't bad. Nothing obscenely terrible that makes me think "Groening is shitting all over the Simpsons". But I never kept up with the show a whole lot to begin with. I'm assuming the couch part won't last so long in later episodes of the season.
neopryn 02-16-2009, 11:21 PM does Groening even have anything to do with it anymore?
duovamp 02-16-2009, 11:42 PM He refused to put his name on the episode that had The Critic in it, which makes me think he wouldn't allow his name to be on this bullshit unless he were okay with it.
mistle 02-17-2009, 06:00 AM it's nice that the radioactive thingy doesn't just disappear into thin air now
mistle 02-17-2009, 06:03 AM why is the satatue's head back on though
That episode was actually really good. I wonder if this show will ever get cancelled, though.
threetwooneZERO 02-17-2009, 02:31 PM i like the peephole magazine at the checkout.
Nimrod's Son 02-17-2009, 04:37 PM Why would Marge be buying Mr. Sparkle?
Thaniel Buckner 02-17-2009, 04:49 PM or tomacco juice.
are we really dissecting the new intro for continuity errors.
duovamp 02-17-2009, 05:16 PM All this aside, the show needs to just end. :( As it stands the Simpsons is just some really shitty cartoon with mediocre/stupid humor. It's a ripoff of a ripoff. The best thing that happened to Futurama was that it didn't drag on beyond its prime. I guess people still watch new Simpsons episodes though, so they'll continue making whatever shitty product they can as long as there's a market. It would seem my issue is valuing quality over profitability.
Nimrod's Son 02-17-2009, 06:55 PM They should just bring back Futurama.
duovamp 02-17-2009, 08:10 PM I'd be a little worried about quality... but I'm sure it'd be profitable.
