I'm so happy I got all of that shit out of my system so long ago. When I used to admin the board, I was pretty far up my own ass as well. I thought it was something important but it was really pointless and silly... it's really funny how even the slightest bit of "power" can really make someone act like a dick. It does become "personal" in the sense that you're entrusted to do something and you want to make sure you do it really well. When people expose you for doing a shitty job executing their responsibilities, they will take it out as such, personally.

In all honesty there were only three real rules on the O-O-Board.

• No spamming / malicious activity
• No racism / sexism / bigotry / hate posts
• No talking about BC's mother

Were people banned for things outside of this? Yeah, definitely... were they justified? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Being threatened by boarders when you have "power", leads you to do things without foundation.

If these are still the remaining rules or not is totally up in the air, but so far I haven't seen much against that.

I will still maintain that the general subject matter on the o-board then was far more coherent and moderately intelligent compared to the babble on there now. However I still attribute that to more uneducated people being able to get on the internet, and younger people just being dumbed down by the lack of worthwhile social interactions online.

I know you're being sarcastic but SP is very much a serious business. One reason the mods need to restrict repetitive negative content is because part of the responsibility of SP.com is to sell things (directly or indirectly) and make money for the band. If someone is thinking of buying merchandise or an album, and then reads a shitload of negative things about the band, that could persuade them not to go ahead with it.

You don't see Walmart or GM with forums that allow customers to talk negative about their products, and neither should SP. It's actually an insult to Netphoria that you people feel like you have to post your criticism on the O-board when you have an entire website to do that here.
