Not sure why we don't have one of these.

I'd say a 7 for music and a 3 for lyrics so...

Not sure why we don't have one of these.

maybe because they're worthless.

you have peoples opinions of the song in other threads. now you want a number to go with it? fuck you.

People will vote, regardless.

7 out of 10.

would have been an 8 without the "c'mon feel our love" repetition.

02-03-2009, 08:04 PM
3 listened to it once, did hear anything that required a repeat

02-03-2009, 08:22 PM
i only heard the part in the commercial but i give that a 1

I loves me some Zeitgeist, dug Superchrist, and I even kinda liked GLOW but this is pretty banal.

Doesn't seem to mean much of anything he's saying, if it has any meaning at all. There's no recognizable riff to latch onto like GLOW had, and the lyrics are pretty awful. And more "Come On"? COME ON! I give it a 6. It's not super offensive, but I've heard 3 Doors Down-caliber radio rock songs better than this, and that makes me sad for Billy Corgan. Plus Jimmy doesn't even seem like he's trying, but maybe he could come up with better drum parts to a song that actually felt like it was attempting to do something. Plus the mix is awful... it's blown out volume-wise and all the loud/soft dynamics that should be taking place in the guitars are just not there. GLOW sounded the same to me. I do like the chord progression during the pre-chorus pretty well though. Maybe the only interesting thing about the piece.

6/10 appears to be prevailing.

I vote FOL 1 star/point higher than I did GLOW, which was probably a 5 but in hindsight should have been a 3.

So 4

If they would have released As Rome Burns on the Hyundai commercial, they'd probably increase their fanbase by a good 10-15%, with FOL, they might have added 3-5% if that. WHY DO THEY KEEP THE GEMS HIDDEN AND THE CRAP OUT IN THE OPEN?!

obviously i have no idea if those percentages could even be close to reality, but they looked good when I wrote it.

but they looked good when I wrote it.

I'm not saying anything, but others will probably disagree.

The poppy repetition in nearly all of their songs since the remake of the band is getting annoying.

Isn't that bad besides it. Flows much better than As Rome Burns

02-05-2009, 01:10 AM
Oh hey, there's one that's based on a drum loop

02-05-2009, 01:16 AM
what singles didn't they have poppy repetition?

every song. I'm talking about lyrics. The same shitty poppy phrase over and over again.

02-05-2009, 01:29 AM
so this song and glow im assuming. what other singles do this?

Not even singles, songs. Songs. Pretty much every song from Zietgiest except for United States.

negative zero

The chorus in smashing pumpkins songs ever since the resurgence have been especially bad and especially poppy.

"Feel Our Love" is the best thing they've done since the reunion, I think it's great.

Pity Billy and his love of the Buck bespoilt the song by allowing it to be used for commercial purposes like that.

Oh well, it's still an excellent song, I gave it 10/10.

02-05-2009, 04:39 PM

If it was on Zeitgeist, it would definitely be one of the highlights though.

02-05-2009, 05:49 PM
The song was made for a commercial, and it sounds like commercial quality.

If it was on Zeitgeist, it would definitely be one of the highlights though.

I dunno, it would probably only stand out as much as Bring the Light, and even then that's not saying much.

8. Best "released" song since the rebirth (reunion is a poor word choice).

02-06-2009, 11:51 PM
So you're going with "rebirth" instead?

There's a difference between made for a commercial and used in a commercial.

02-11-2009, 04:03 PM
6 out of 10 for me.

I dont even care about it being in a commercial or not. It's new pumpkins music and I love the band.

That being said, it's a very standard rocker from the new pumpkins, nothing THAT exciting, but it's not bad.
Could've done without the "Come On" again and again...
