what is your fav BC related thing you enjoyed the most as a fan since SP "broke up"?

could be just a song, an era, a gig, a CD, a release of some other sort, anything really.
(eg. gossamer, 4 piece zwan, acoustic TFE gig, zeitgeist, etc.)

The best thing billy has done in the past 7 years is probably the Zwan Paris Acoustic Show, period. The best thing to happen to SP since they have been back together has probably been Jeff "Shredder." I honestly don't know how involved he is in writing, but the reworkings of GaTGC, Shame, BSBT, Home, LMGTWTY, HMM etc. have all been excellent, and if that is due to Jeff's writing then props to him.

In no particular order:

-The excitement and mystery over who "Skullfisher" was. This includes how so many people assumed that it was James, even after the Glass House show, since Pajo had his head down in the dark the whole time.

-TheFutureEmbrace album and tour. Despite it being a flop, I really liked a lot of the compositions and approaches. Now and Then is such an underrated song. And as far as the tour went, the huge light wall with the reflective white floor, and his outfit that looked reasonably normal was pretty cool.

-Billy dusting off Hummer. And, instead of rearranging it, he acknowledged that it was perfect as-is, and played it as such.

-The rearrangement of Shame. While I love the album version, and while Adore is my favorite album, the rearrangement of Shame was just so, so good. It reminded me of his skills back in the 90's when he'd take a song like Dreaming, Dancing in the Moonlight or Clones, and make it actually sound brilliant via a rearrangement. I know the setlists for this tour aren't going to change, but if he brought the new Shame back, it would be very well-received by me.

-Watching the Pumpkins play United States at Rock Am Ring via the webcast. Right before it gets to the breakdown at the end, the crowd is chanting in unison like Billy is their god, and he's staring at them like they're right. It's a pretty powerful moment, I think.

And my least favorite moments:

-Zwan, in general. It was like what I would imagine watching your parents fight over some secret affair to be or something. It left an uncomfortable taste in my mouth. And then you find out later on, after it's over, that it was much more abusive than you'd ever have imagined. So the whole era was just disgusting to me.

-The commercialism of Zeitgeist. It was really hard to justify to my friends why a dozen "versions" of Zeitgeist on the shelf at Best Buy had any integrity. Yellow. Red. Orange. Blue. Silver. Green. It really stomped on Billy's attempts to explain that he was "back for the music, not the money." And releasing the ad in the Tribune about the Pumpkins being revived... on the same day TheFutureEmbrace was released... yeah, that didn't go well, either.

-The James-bashing in his blogs. Not because I'm a huge fan of James or anything. I mean, I like James. And I do wish it could have worked out to have him be reunited with Billy and Jimmy. But there has always been something... fishy... about how one-sided Billy's continuously changing versions of the "truth" are. It would be cool if James could at least provide his perspective on things, too. But instead, it's been the Billy Show for quite some time, now.
