I thought Jurrasic Park was the best thing ever. He's kind of a horrible writer and a horrible person in hindsight, though.

I just don't understand why the awesome books of his I read as a teen ended up as shitty movies.

i saw that in theatres by myself. it was okay, i guess. you gotta figure that most movies put in theatres have to be semi-okay. i think paul walker was in it. he's hot.

Between this and Obama's grandmother dying the day before he gets elected, I'm starting to wonder what other strangely-timed death is going to happen next.

Yeah I read a lot of his books too when I was in my teens. Why was he a douchebag? I never really heard anything personal about him.

That's probably the stupidest thing I've ever read on this board.

Michael Crichton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Crichton#Criticism)

In his 2006 novel Next (released November 28 of that year), Crichton introduced a character named "Mick Crowley" who is a Yale graduate and a Washington D.C.-based political columnist. "Crowley" was portrayed by Crichton as a child molester with a small penis.

Holy fuck...

A real person named Michael Crowley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Crowley) is also a Yale graduate, and a senior editor of The New Republic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Republic), a left-leaning Washington D.C.-based political magazine. In March 2006, the real Crowley had written an article strongly critical of Crichton for his stance on global warming in State of Fear.[25] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Crichton#cite_note-24)

Haha.

Yeah, I read a story about the whole "small penis" thing. Apparently, when an author wants to use someone's real name for a character with bad attributes, they'll say the character has a small penis because who would want to sue an author if it meant being the "guy with the small penis" for the rest of your life?
