View Full Version : I am sitting in the "LANGUAGE LAB"

My german class today is meeting in some special computer lab for language classes. All the computers are hooked up to headphones with a little micropone on them. This program randomly connects each student to another student in the class, and we're supposed to ask each other questions in German with these headsets.

But we're sitting in the same room.

It took half the class to get this program working correctly.

My partner is sitting ten feet away from me, and I'm asking him questions in German over a headset.

What the fuck.

Minutes after making this thread Netphoria managed not only to crash the browser, but the ENTIRE computer.

Later in the class, our teacher sent everyone in the room a paragraph for us to translate. We then had to type up our own paragraph on the same theme, print it out, and hand it to her for a grade.

I guess staying in our regular classroom and physically writing paragraphs down on notebook paper isn't high tech enough for my school. Most of the class time was spent trying to get everything to work right, it was hilariously ridiculous.

Our Maryland tax dollars at work I suppose.
