There are a couple Direct Connect clients on the Mac. I've never used them, so I can't recommend anything to you.

The hub isn't a website, which is the main difference. The way the hub works, you connect our particular SP hub with other users. These other users have file shares that you download from.

Archive is just a website with a lot of stuff directly on it. It doesn't have everything, but it's convenient. The advantage of the LMA is that you don't have to wait for someone to come online and hope they have something you want. LMA also only hosts shows, the hub has shows/demos/videos/DVD/etc.


Hub = user hosted
Archive = website hosted

Yeah, it drives me up the wall, and I've been using the hub on and off since about '02.

In settings, try passive mode for now, and try connecting to me - 'matt', right click 'get file list', it should work.

Edit: remember to close and restart after editing connection settings

I'm happy to share a list of everything I have, including video, dvds etc and then I can torrent stuff if people are really struggling to find a certain video/boot online

I still used it for downloading and sharing, when the right people came online you can find stuff no longer active in torrents nor on the LMA.
