My dog brought him in last night and after leaving it outside overnight to see if the mom would come back for it I brought it in the house this morning in the hopes that it would still be alive when I came home from work. I fed it some of that critter formula and I even was able to stimulate his first bowel movement!! I'm really not sure what it is...it's either a squirrel or a rat. I looked at pictures on google and they look the same as newborns, but I'm leaning on the former of the two considering my backyard is full of squirrels.
I hope I can keep it alive long enough to introduce it back to the wild...
I would be highly jealous if that is a squirrel. A pet squirrel is something I hope to one day have.
You should get a heating lamp or something to keep it warm.

my cousin used to do this kind of stuff, one time taking an abandoned duck egg home for incubation only to drop it by accident a few days later, splashing orange goo everywhere

Are you sure that's new-born and not early-born?
My girlfriend is thinking the same thing, but after the google image search for rat and squirrel we squashed that theory.

He made it through another night (what a lil fighter!) I'm trying to find a wildlife rescue group around where I live, but if I can't find anything I'll just have to take him into the city on Wednesday...

If you can't find a wildlife rescue group, contact an exotic vet, they could probably give you some good advice.

I would keep it. You could always dress the squirrel up in funny little costumes:
