i'm just now working my way through season one of this show, and aside from a few episodes being in the wrong order, it seems that the what's coming up on the next episode bit at the end of each episode never actually comes up in the next episode. it almost seems like i'm watching ever other episode, or something. is this a running gag with the show, or something? or am i just an idiot.:erm:

I believe it started as a joke for the pilot, when obviously they didn't know if there would be a second episode.

Occasionally, very occasionally, what they show will actually happen, like with Tobias sneaking around in the blind lawyer's house. Or maybe that's the only example, actually. Only one I can think of off the top of my head, anyway.

The first time I watched it, I always pressed stop before that part because I didn't want to know what happened next. Then after the episode where Michael and George Michael got arrested and there was no mention of it in the next episode, I knew I was missing something.

Everything they show happens, they even reference it sometimes. You just never actually see it happen in the next episode.

I swear there's one where it can't have really happened, or where the next episode contradicts it, but I can't for the life of me think of it. Probably this is going to bother me until I realize I've been imagining it all along.

Unfortunately, the Pheonix Down's never give you characters (or the thread in this case) enough HP to keep going. Need some Curja.

what a great great show

i only watched it on DVD which was a blessing because you can go back and rewatch segments to really catch all the jokes and references that are present
