McCain will take it. His pick for VP in Palin has invigorated the conservative base that's never been thrilled about him (notice how she received the most resounding applause both Wednesday and Thursday nights), and I think enough of the female Democrats who are still pissed off about Hillary's dissing will "drink the Kool-Aid" and go with the woman. Not only that, but I fear that a lot of voters who are for Obama right now will have last minute second-guessing when they get into that voting booth and back out of goin' with Obama and choose McCain because they decide it's a safer bet. And most importantly, race will be key...whether you're talking about plain ol' redneck racists or white folks in places like Philadelphia, a significant portion of whites will not vote for Obama simply because he's black and they either hate or are frustrated with blacks in general. As a friend of mine asked me: "How the fuck can you vote for Obama when the blacks are responsible for just about all the crime and murder in this city?"

I'm sure Obama won't benefit from the largest turnout of black voters in history who will be voting for him at a 95% clip. But that's not racism, that's progress.

Actually it is because the black vote honestly doesn't mean that much. It makes up for what 12% of the voting population? Plus how many of them are actually going to go out and vote, and of those how many of them are going to not be turned away for bullshit reasons at the polling booths? Last election my stepdad who's a lawyer volunteered and went to a polling booth in a mostly black area to try to help people who were getting turned away for unjust reasons.

It's nothing racist, it's just the fact of shit in this country. If the black voting population was something like 30-40% of our registered voting population, and you didn't have corruption going on at voting booths, than this would be a big factor. It's just not as big of a factor as people think.

Touche, but that's no different than, for instance, the women who voted for Hillary and will vote McCain/Palin simply because one of the candidates is of the same gender, or someone who'll vote for the Republicans simply because one of 'em is a card-carrying member of the NRA. Voting for a candidate simply because of one singular issue like ones stated above is foolish, I just find it a bit more disheartening when people will vote against someone simply because of hate/bias.

i'm not sure. i keep thinking the republicans are making terrible campaign decisions, but somehow it seems to work. i guess i'll have to learn to see everything from retard perspective. i'm so amazed that people actually buy that palin nonsense. well she's a hockey mom and she kills moose! a real maverick! she'll stick it to those community organizing elitists! it's such a clear cut showdown between risking everything on having faith that the people possesses some tiny glimmer of intelligence and pandering to their simplest, dumb instincts. if obama loses no one will ever again run a campaign on anything but absolute lowest common denominator
