yeah hopefully it comes close enough to cancel school but not close enough to do any real damage, just like tropical storm fay

perfect. after hurricane katrina hit coral gables directly while people were still in class my school's been pretty quick to call off a day of school in advance

It's weird, though, because the models have had it going all over the place today. Earlier they all had it turning NE. I assume the dry slot that's attacked Hanna is playing games with the forecasts.

The models have come way south, though.
that's because it's all bullshit, they just look at how it's moved for a day or two then draw a line ahead of it on the map. when the hurricane does the opposite of what they predicted, no problem just change the map. any effort they put into it beyond that is simply to justify their existence
personally i think they pretty much tell half the country the hurricane could be headed their way @ CAT 4 and the reason for this is that they want lots of television viewers to tune in
