MonteLDS 09-01-2008, 07:24 PM i am not sure FN it kind of reminded me of the many versions (flavors) of Linux when i read We've used components from Apple's WebKit and Mozilla's Firefox, Travis Meeks 09-01-2008, 07:25 PM no, I'm more pumped about redbull sticking fingers in bitches and walking them around the room like a wheelbarrow. MonteLDS 09-01-2008, 07:27 PM kind of reminds me of a Pokemon ball :erm: ravenguy2000 09-01-2008, 07:28 PM http://www.digitalrendezvous.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/simonextreme.png barden 09-01-2008, 07:28 PM I'm pumped. MonteLDS 09-01-2008, 07:51 PM i like this idea. the browser will have its own task manager. pale blue eyes 09-01-2008, 08:40 PM This is the first I have heard of it. I'll probably try it and then go back to what I always use. PeppermintHippo 09-01-2008, 09:01 PM This is the first I have heard of it. I'll probably try it and then go back to what I always use. which is???? Andrew_Pakula 09-01-2008, 09:35 PM So is this available for download somewhere yet or do we have to wait until tomorrow? pale blue eyes 09-01-2008, 09:44 PM which is???? Firefox. And I only started using that because Internet Explorer kept freezing on me. killtrocity 09-01-2008, 10:03 PM http://cdn.last.fm/coverart/300x300/2044579-485497791.jpg Hate the Hater 09-01-2008, 10:44 PM Monte made the comic: http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/images/16.jpg The Jesus 09-02-2008, 06:19 AM I see a few features lifted straight from the other main browsers in Chrome. Ever 09-02-2008, 07:56 AM Multi-processing is the real selling point, and that private tab is a great idea too. yoshinobu's revenge 09-02-2008, 09:19 AM i was surprised how in depth the webcomic was. i agree using multiple processes should help a lot. most of the time my browser is the main app open on my PC anyway. i'm interested to know how they made precise garbage collection faster than automatic garbage management. i'm not won over by the full-text search context in the url bar, nor the putting the tabs at the very top (really, who cares? and i already have my faves and plugin toolbars in between my url bar and tabs anyway). interesting that they went with webkit for the rendering engine. private tab is cool altho the distrust plugin for firefox does that already. nice to have it a built in feature tho. Mo 09-02-2008, 09:22 AM Wah wah wah. Another over-hyped browser no-one really needs. rolmos 09-02-2008, 09:48 AM http://www.freechromethemes.com/DownloadGoogleChrome.php http://www.google.com/notebook/public/10082229128833698422/BDSIKQgoQ08HkgsIj?hl=en better than new 09-02-2008, 11:22 AM But the guy who posted the blog looks a bit like Monte. We've even outsourced Monte now? JokeyLoki 09-02-2008, 02:55 PM I like its simplicity. Wish it had addons. Andrew_Pakula 09-02-2008, 03:35 PM Its available for download now. I've only used it for a few minutes but it feels fast, loads pages faster then Firefox or IE, very simplistic and not bloated. sppunk 09-02-2008, 03:36 PM Does it block ads, aka AdBlock+? Andrew_Pakula 09-02-2008, 03:43 PM It will block the popups and full page ads but normal ads are still displayed. Rider 09-02-2008, 03:50 PM Tried it, I already uninstalled it. Fast as shit but I refuse to use any browser that massively changes the UI for no reason. Take that, Google fanboys. mxzombie 09-02-2008, 06:53 PM i'm using it now and it's fast as shit but once i open a bunch of tabs all the processes add up to a bit too much memory usage. i'm gonna keep trying it out though and see how it works with my regular usage bja1288 09-02-2008, 09:05 PM i liked it until i opened nethphoria. wheres the adblock plugin for this MonteLDS 09-02-2008, 09:13 PM Where's the "Home" button? this was my 1st question when i opened chrome. glad i found the feature that enables it. i must admit things do seem to move faster in chrome so far. i am rather impressed at that netphoria is the slowest page to load on my normal usage and yet it takes care of it like nobodies business. yoshinobu's revenge 09-02-2008, 09:54 PM Your User Agent is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/0.2.149.27 Safari/525.13 oh shit. i have to update my website's user agent sniffing now.
