i am not sure FN

it kind of reminded me of the many versions (flavors) of Linux when i read
We've used components from Apple's WebKit and Mozilla's Firefox,

so this is the "cartoon drawing" of the browser. the location of the tabs look to be in an inconvenient spot. but I guess they are trying to be different.

i like this idea. the browser will have its own task manager.

I see a few features lifted straight from the other main browsers in Chrome.

Multi-processing is the real selling point, and that private tab is a great idea too.

i was surprised how in depth the webcomic was.

i agree using multiple processes should help a lot. most of the time my browser is the main app open on my PC anyway. i'm interested to know how they made precise garbage collection faster than automatic garbage management.

i'm not won over by the full-text search context in the url bar, nor the putting the tabs at the very top (really, who cares? and i already have my faves and plugin toolbars in between my url bar and tabs anyway).

interesting that they went with webkit for the rendering engine.

private tab is cool altho the distrust plugin for firefox does that already. nice to have it a built in feature tho.

Andrew_Pakula

Its available for download now.

I've only used it for a few minutes but it feels fast, loads pages faster then Firefox or IE, very simplistic and not bloated.

Does it block ads, aka AdBlock+?

Andrew_Pakula
09-02-2008, 03:43 PM
It will block the popups and full page ads but normal ads are still displayed.

i'm using it now and it's fast as shit but once i open a bunch of tabs all the processes add up to a bit too much memory usage. i'm gonna keep trying it out though and see how it works with my regular usage

Where's the "Home" button?

this was my 1st question when i opened chrome. glad i found the feature that enables it.

i must admit things do seem to move faster in chrome so far. i am rather impressed at that

netphoria is the slowest page to load on my normal usage and yet it takes care of it like nobodies business.

this is fucking typical of google. picasa has the same sort of shit. they're always saying how open-source and community friendly they are but at the same time they'll own you and everything you've ever clicked and typed.

oh well. i'll just install it at work, i only do work shit on there anyway.

right click the search bar and you can add engines to your searching or whatnot. that might help? i dunno, i never used or liked those extra bars

once again requires me to readjust my my hand.. i find it easiest with the mouse personally.

but i am sure Google will customize it a little more in future betas.

Did you read the comic or any of its feature sets?

Start typing the site in the omnibar (example: 'a' for amazon.com), hit tab, type your search term and hit enter. Easy.

It's supposed to work with any site that has a search option.
