I despise people who insist on talking while a photograph is being taken.

Off the top of my head apart from cursive, the phrase non sequitur and degree grades being referred to in latin, we say both in english over here.

does not follow, or some variation upon 'those premisses do not (logically, if you like) entail that conclusion', or just YOU IDIOT!

I cant help but feel im being set up for a fall when TCM asks a question.

that's not necessary, i'm just being curious and perhaps obtuse. i wasn't thinking of the logical fallacy so much as conversational or absurdist non sequiturs. i couldn't come up with a simpler term. hippopotamus.

I dont really have a clue what you mean by conversational or absurdist non sequiturs.

when you say something that has no direct connection whatsoever to what's been said before

for comic effect

that's also called a non sequitur i believe
