View Full Version : So i have to be at work at 7
it's 4:30
Should I just go in early? Or get an hour of sleep? I feel like I'm in highschool again. I've been up trying to get some stuff to run at work because it's already late and i screwed something up. It's just about done now and I can finally leave it alone for a while.
However, I don't know if I'll wake up on time if I do go to sleep now.
Also, if i go in early, i come home early, and that's always happy..
Also number two - I made candy out of coke just now and realize why no one's really done that - it just tastes kinda burnt and only veguely like coke without the carbonation in it anymore.
Thaniel Buckner 08-29-2008, 07:34 AM yeah i have to be in at 10.

or not going to work at all. it is a tough decision.
TuralyonW3 08-29-2008, 07:37 AM i went to work on wednesday on 1.5 hours sleep. i just drank a lot of diet coke, and tried to kind of take it easy, and i was ok.
or not going to work at all. it is a tough decision.
that's not an option - i uh wasn't at work today.. er yesterday
i was asleep
Get some sleep - it's better than no sleep at all.
Then come in early and call it a day around noon.
but what if i don't get up!? i
oh it's the episode where marsha's nose gets hit by a football
iknow if i decide to stay up i'll regret it in like half an hour. that's how it always works, you get delerious when it's beyond the point of no return, but only after you are convinced you won't get delerious..

do alarm clocks work for anyone? i just hit snooze in my sleep until it's conveneint to wake up, or i have finally realized in my subconcious that I have 5 minutes to get dressed and drive to work
i can ignore it if it's not too close.
Then Dan gets all pissy
Cool As Ice Cream 08-29-2008, 11:29 AM most people i know leave their alarm clock on the other side of the room. This is so they physically have to get up and turn it off.
i do this.
i slept through the alarm for half an hour on tuesday and wednesday. and it's very loud.
Cool As Ice Cream 08-29-2008, 01:49 PM wax build up?
haha, no. not a chance. i know it's bad, but i clean my ears with cotton swabs every day.
seriously though, some days i simply don't wake up. or i do, but i'm not able to get up at all. and this is (usually) not related to going to bed too late or drinking too much.
if someone can give me advice on how to get up on time, that would be very nice. i'm always late at work and they don't like that.
Sarcastic Smile 08-29-2008, 01:54 PM No alarm ever wakes me up.. I went and bought two on Wednesday to see if that would do it.. but I just slept through it. I returned them today.. my friend told me about this site thinkgeek.com that sells an alarm clock that is as loud as a jack hammer.. turns out it also has a "bed shaker" I am going to order it tonight.. hopefully it does the trick.
This is it.. "sonic boom"

Sarcastic Smile 08-29-2008, 01:59 PM I only do that sometimes.. like today I woke up early without needing to be up.. so I did errands.. Sometimes I just cant fall asleep at night.. I have been taking tylenol pm and it doesnt help
Sarcastic Smile 08-29-2008, 02:29 PM When I was younger I was sleeping at my grandparents house.. their room is right next to my ours (my bro and me) , with a bathroom in between..my grandpa has a heart condition and he has had 2 heart attacks and takes pills and I think he has a defibrillator now.. well he gets up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.. Has a heart attack and falls down in the bathroom.. He is a VERY big guys.. like 6'1, heavy man.. and the fall wakes everyone up but there I am.. still sleeping.. they call the paramedics.. who comes upstairs.. and take my grandfather to the hospital.. I still sleep... never even flinching.. and my room was right next to the bathroom. I wake up in the morning to find a note:
"We went to the hospital, couldn't wake you up. Call grandma's cell."
Hopefully the sonic boom can help me.
Heavy Sleeper? Get Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock with Bed Shaker
"Slip it under your mattress and your ears will bleed and your bed will shake, and there is no way you will oversleep."

Lucy Sky Diamonds 08-29-2008, 08:23 PM I'm jealous of you folks who can sleep through anything. I sleep with earplugs on cause the traffic noise outside is enough to keep me up.
this morning's sunrise from my office window -
