Is stem cell research a hot-button issue anymore? It hasn't been in the news much lately, now that they've figured out that adult stem cells can do the same thing as embryonic...

To be sure, there have been some major breakthroughs with adult stem cell research. But as of now, they appear to be good for different things. Adult stem cells show potential in certain areas while embryonic stem cells show better potential in other areas. It's not an either/or situation, there is a greater chance of success if we pursue both tracks.
