I know that most of you probably already know this, but for those who don't read every topic beginning-to-end like some of us do....

The show is posted at DIME...... go get ya some!
...meaning the Knoxville show (http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=210119).

The Louisville show is also available. (http://www.archive.org/details/tsp2008-08-12.mk4v)

Once cabbage's recordings from Charlotte and Charlottesville are online, every show performed at the time of this being typed will be available. I know they're all the same setlist, but the banter and performances vary, right?

i'ts appreciated.
each show that gets taped deserves it's own thread
and it's own line of "thanks"
tapers deserve thanks every time.

Another source for 08/08/08. Imo it's clearer, both vocally and musically. Great boot here, I'd say, and like I said imo, it's an upgrade from the previous boot.

Good call. Mad props to all the tapers out there. Word to their mothers. Thanks to God and Jesus as well, because without them, taping would not be possible.

P.S. I'm not being spiteful, honestly. I'm just amusing myself.
P.P.S. Thanks to Rickpat12 for pointing out the 2nd Davenport source. I saw it on the Archive but forgot to link to it.

it figures everytime I've tried to get an account with them including last night, they weren't excepting new accounts. Just tried today and got one.

Oh yes, and thank you for the boot!

The Raleigh show is now on LMA (http://www.archive.org/details/SmashingPumpkins2008-08-17) (this was mentioned by someone else in the Raleigh thread).

And I suppose I will upload my shitty recording of Charlotte over the weekend, just so there's one out there. Hopefully cabbage's or another distortion-free version will be online soon to make mine obsolete.

Don't know, but I downloaded it this morning (the VBR MP3s). If it doesn't return soon, I can up it at YSI or something.

I have upped my Charlotte recording on Dime. (http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=211353)

It actually sounds a lot better than I expected, but be warned: it's overdriven in spots, especially during the really loud songs such as SC, US, HMM, etc. The banter, acoustic portion, and encore all sound pretty decent. Cabbage's version should be an upgrade, though, when it becomes available. Cheers.

^ Hey cabbage thx!!!

Small correction if you can change it on the LMA: It's "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning", not the other way around. Just an oversight I'm sure, as most people are used to typing/discussing TEITBITE.

Thanks WhoAmI. How do you like the ZoomH4?
I really like it for recording myself, and once I get a better grasp of how to use its gain controls, I'm thinking it'll be really good for concert recording. And it's small enough that it always gets overlooked (in its black bag) when my wife hides it in her purse to sneak it into shows. Hopefully I'll be recording My Morning Jacket this weekend, using what I learned from this Pumpkins recording.

WhoAmI, if the H4 records in 24-bit, I recommend going that route and setting your levels low. You can amplify the recording later and you'll get way less background noise than on a 16-bit recording.

I'm pretty sure that it does 24-bit, so that's something I may try next time out. I still know way less about recording (and editing recordings) than I should, but I feel like I'm slowly getting better. For example, I just discovered that Audacity has some handy features that, if I'd known of them, would probably have led me to make a better Charlotte recording. Live and learn, I suppose.
