I opted not to see them at Lollapalooza in favor of Rage Against the Machine, mainly because I knew I'd be going to this show. The band weren't in Nudie suits, but it was still pretty awesome. Great set and besides maybe substituting "California Stars" for "Blood of the Lamb" I don't have any complaints. Also, they brought a horn section with them (who Jeff Tweedy called the Total Pros) and I have a platonically intense love of a well-used horn section. This is also probably my favorite venue, a nice little theater that only seats a little less than 1,200 people. Here's what they played and some crappy cell phone camera pictures of the venue:

1. Sunken Treasure
2. Wishful Thinking
3. I Am Trying To Break Your Heart
4. Blood Of The Lamb (w/Total Pros horns-clarinet only)
5. You Are My Face
6. Company In My Back
7. Hotel Arizona (started and restarted three times)
8. Handshake Drugs
9. Pot Kettle Black
10. Side With The Seeds
11. Radio Cure
12. Impossible Germany
13. Jesus, Etc.
14. Theologians
15. Poor Places
16. Spiders (Kidsmoke)

Encore 1:
17. Hummingbird
18. Hate It Here (w/Total Pros horns)
19. Walk On (w/Total Pros horns)
20. I'm The Man Who Loves You (w/Total Pros horns)

Encore 2:
21. Heavy Metal Drummer
22. The Late Greats (w/Total Pros horns)
23. Casino Queen
24. Outtasite (Outta Mind) (w/Total Pros horns)

Oooh, would love to see them with a horn section. Looks like a cool venue and setlist, thanks for posting. Any word of a new album?

Nah, they apparently played a new song at Lollapalooza ("One Wing") but I haven't heard anything as far as when it would come out. The horn section was sweet, but by the end of most songs I was just in awe of Nels Cline. Holy shit.

Last time I saw them I was about 8 feet from Nels. Guy's mesmerising.

Lucky! The setlist from last night was a lot different from when I saw them in February and I had much better seats so I was pretty happy.

I was trying to take pictures of the venue which is why there are so many audience shots. I wasn't super close to the stage and all the pictures I took of the band came out dark, small, and shitty so I am not going to post them.

There are always a lot of old people at those shows because it is ancient opera house and they just started booking notable acts so half of the audience are old people who go to every show they have there. It's really weird.

Yeah, I was gonna guess that it looks like an old people place so the old people still go to whatever shows they have there anyway.

Then again I guess it is not all that weird to think about old people listening to Wilco.

wilco probably has the oldest fans from any band thats still consistently making solid music

Like I said, I love the venue and it sounds great but the crowd is always old. There was a guy in the row in front of me playing the most awkward air guitar ever. It was like he was strumming to a completely different song than what was being played.

the crowd looks pretty old in those pics

Probably my least favourite thing about Wilco shows is the smell of piss and cats.

a wilco show kinda is like an enya concert minus the fairies and dolphins. looks like a typical wilco crowd.

i like low concerts because they are usually so quiet and you can actually hear music and not conversations, old people kick ass sometimes.

Crowd doesn't look that old for Wilco to me. Seems like their crowd is 22-45 with the median around 33.

The Total Pros are an awesome addition, and I hope they become a permanent part of the touring ensemble. I will be very disappointed if it's a 1 tour deal.
