Mablak 07-13-2008, 03:30 AM I need to listen to a full album of theirs sometime. They're really the only 80s band that I sometimes like.

This film and that song in particular are what got me into Talking Heads. I think I played it like four or five times the first time I saw it because it was so awesome.
pale blue eyes 07-13-2008, 07:28 AM God, I love his voice.

awesome film. amazing band. fyi: Johnny Marr play guitar on (Nothing But) Flowers.
dudehitscar 07-13-2008, 11:03 PM that song was great. There music is so stiff... such a difference from the fluidity of say a pumpkins song.
I'm not saying that as a putdown.
Brute Squad 07-13-2008, 11:43 PM I need to listen to a full album of theirs sometime. They're really the only 80s band that I sometimes like.
Never been a fan of The Smiths?
Rockin' Cherub 07-15-2008, 05:37 AM why is 80s always equated with pop music

didn't know that!
their demos from 75 are fantastic too, but i love all their stuff. their debut single "love -> building on fire/i wish you wouldn't say that" is not to be missed neither. yo.

once i found that out i went and listened to (Nothing But) Flowers again the guitar playing is so obviously Johnny Marr's style that i couldn't believe i hadn't noticed it before.
