neopryn 02-03-2009, 05:25 PM Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
Flight of the Conchords - Flight of the Conchords
Franz Ferdinand - Tonight: Franz Ferdinand
they're all pretty swell
AndySlash 02-03-2009, 05:40 PM they're all pretty swell
gee wally, that's neat!
TheDeuce 02-05-2009, 04:20 AM i keep forgetting to post what i get in here, but my last batch was:
Billy Joel - Streetlife Serenade
Billy Joel - Turnstiles (outside of Piano Man i have all his albums up to, i think, The Bridge now)
Genesis - Foxtrot
Genesis - Wind & Wutheringza
George Harrison - Thirty-Three & 1/3 (which i guess makes it better than the Pumpkin's song)
Paul McCartney - Pipes Of Piece (all the good Beatles are dead, but i'm a sucker, and this has Michael Jackson on it)
Soft Cell - The Art Of Falling Apart
Supertramp - Indelibly Stamped (now i only need the self titled record to complete my Roger Hodgson-era Supertramp vinyl collection)
The Cars - Greatest Hits (why not, i have the first record, but this has their 1 or 2 other great songs)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack
Genesis - Wind & Wutheringza
first genesis album i fell in love with; i had gotten it for like a buck at a record shop and laid on my bed, listening to it endlessly.:smoke:
Fattening Ass 02-05-2009, 05:19 AM My Morning Jacket: Evil Urges
I haven't even opened it cause it went missing -____-
pale blue eyes 03-15-2009, 01:19 PM David Bowie - Station to Station
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Deja Vu
Bob Dylan - Slow Train Coming
Peter Framptom - Frampton Comes Alive!
Fugazi - 13 Songs
The Kinks - Muswell Hillbillies
Rolling Stones - Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass)
Rolling Stones - Goats Head Soup
Rolling Stones - It's Only Rock N' Roll
Rolling Stones - Some Girls
Bruce Springsteen - Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J.
All used except for two of them. And everything I bought used is in great condition, with the exception of the Bowie album. The last few times I went vinyl shopping there was just nothing I wanted and then I stumble onto all of this. The best part was it was all under $60!
Slightly off-topic: Does anybody know why 13 Songs on vinyl doesn't have the album title on it anywhere? It has the same songs as my CD version (only the cover is different) but it just looks like a self-titled album.
pale blue eyes 03-15-2009, 01:24 PM I would also like to add that they had a copy of Bob Dylan's first greatest hits album with the poster still in there for $60 and I did not buy it. I TOTALLY could have, but I did not. It was really, really hard.
waltermcphilp 03-15-2009, 01:33 PM why didn't you just buy it? go back and get it.
pale blue eyes 03-15-2009, 01:48 PM STOP TRYING TO BE AN ENABLER, WATERMELONCLIP.
I set myself a limit when I go into record stores of $75 so I do not overspend, and I have to put my purchases on my debit card and not a credit card so I do not blow too much money at once.
House of Bread 03-15-2009, 04:28 PM Shellac - At Action Park

It reminds me a lot of some of the bands from the Sarah/Shinkansen roster, and related. Good stuff.

nice, which one?
pale blue eyes 03-16-2009, 08:26 AM who cares what shape it was in as long as the record plays. great find! that's one i always look for.
It is the one I always look for, too. The cover has horrible ring wear on it but the record is fine. Some slight hissing but no skips. Best $2 I ever spent!
pale blue eyes 04-05-2009, 09:33 PM The Beatles - Revolver
The Beatles - Rubber Soul
Belle & Sebastian - The Boy with the Arab Strap
Eric Clapton - Slowhand
Elvis Costello - My Aim is True
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Chronicle
Bob Dylan - At Budokan
Iron & Wine - The Creek Drank the Cradle
Billy Joel - Greatest Hits Volume I & Volume II
Elton John - London & New York (bootleg)
Led Zeppelin - IV
The Postal Service - Give Up
Spinal Tap - This is Spinal Tap / Music From the Motion Picture
Talking Heads - Naked
I would like to add that the Spinal Tap album is sealed, entirely black and I can see my face in it like a mirror just like in the movie. For that reason, I sort of want to leave it sealed. :o
publius clodius 04-06-2009, 04:47 AM This album is like crack. I downloaded it off of eMusic last month and can't stop listening to it.
what's supposed to be great about it
pale blue eyes 04-06-2009, 07:25 AM It's catchy indie pop with jangly guitars and I like it a lot.
publius clodius 04-06-2009, 07:33 AM i think it's boring. i mean i try to like this shit but as with the new asobi seksu album before and that terrible crystal stilts band it's just 10 songs that sound exactly the same, have the same obvious influences and lack hooks like entirely
but whatever floats your boat, erin
pale blue eyes 04-06-2009, 07:47 AM It does sort of sound the same but for the moment I enjoy it. I also had a intensely platonic love for that Vampire Weekend album for about two weeks and then was over it so who knows how long it will last.
publius clodius 04-06-2009, 08:10 AM vampire weekend had hooks tho

AndySlash 04-10-2009, 05:28 PM Haha, you like Billy Joel.
HahahahahahahahaNo.
Someone I know happened to purchase two one day because they thought they had put the same album back down at another store they went to earlier that same day.
I'm guilty of buying shit I already own a few times, but I can say I've never done it on the same day. That takes talent.
Anyway, point is I got the album gratis because some real Billy Joel fan decided one purchase of Greatest Hits 1 & 2 wasn't enough for that day.
pale blue eyes 04-10-2009, 05:29 PM Well, lucky you then!

ok you gotta be more specific than that
i am making my download list for the week
Dogfighter28 07-21-2009, 11:34 AM Between the Buried and Me have elements of metal and hardcore as well as progressive rock.
Made Out of Babies is a more extreme metal version of the Jesus Lizard. It's noise rock taken up a notch, and the singer is a crazy hybrid of Bjork and David Yow.
dr.benway 07-21-2009, 11:36 AM alright, i'm gonna add it to the list.
i googled photos and had doubts because of the moustaches.
