so basically non-generic rpg and adventure games. a strategy game like advance wars or warcraft 3 is acceptable but it has to be something really exceptional otherwise it won't hold my attention for more than about 3 minutes

recently played lostwinds on wiiware, enjoyed it muchly

things i don't like generally are boring-ass FPS', real-time strategy and MMO's. i want a primarily single player game

after I realized the small amount of interaction with other players I became less excited about this game. I'll probably still buy it though... it really comes out on tuesday? I thought it was fall 2008.

A hell of a third person shooter / RPG. I was expecting it to be more of a shooter, but it's a very immersive RPG at its core.

I got it used a couple years ago on amazon for like $5.00. Quite possibly the greatest enjoyment/cost ratio I've ever experienced in my life.

F all the previous suggestions. Download Worms Armageddon even if you've tried it before, it's full of strategy and also has a lot of skills you can develop in each of the schemes, especially roping. The 1 player is pretty fun and challenging for a beginner, but the online play is a ton of fun and teaches you so much more, you gotta try that.

I think if you just look for worms armageddon iso you can find it anywhere, then I guess you just need the patch at wa.team17.com.

When Season 4 comes out in 2 weeks you can get the season 2 swords with honor.

You could always get the new heroic badge fists (major dps upgrade)

To answer the original posters question here are my top 5 games available for PC right now that aren't in your list.

5) The Witcher - RPG.... great graphics, probably need a 256mb graphics card to run it very well.
4) F.E.A.R. series- If you like FPS's and haven't played this it's mandatory. Great game, very intelligent A.I., very very scary.
3) Neverwinter Nights 2- RPG, one of the better RPG's of the past 5 years. Good storyline, good replay value, decent difficulty.
2) Bioshock- FPS/RPG elements... probably need 256mb graphics card for this as well. Great game, very unique, probably in my top 10 of all time on any console.
1) World of Warcraft- MMORPG/Monthly Fee: if you're one of 9 people in the world who havent played this, its time to check it out.

yeah my internet connection sucks right now so I cant really do a lot of badge grinding, but they will change in a week or so... so right now I do the sunwell dailies and grind for honor... even though I don't like pvping, haha.

my guild has gone through a lot of changes lately. they decided they wanted to be a leveling guild and not a raiding one, so all the raiders left to another guild. then all the people that left hated the new one and missed the people who stayed behind... and formed a sister guild just for raiding. sooooo its kind of starting from scratch again but that's okay because there are only a few rogues in the guild so far and that means I get to go to all the ones I'm geared for. And the people are awesome. not angry nerds like in most guilds. well there are a few but thats just how WoW works.

I hate PvP. We only raid Mon-Thurs for about 3 hours so we're far from "hardcore". But I guess some of us are somewhat nerdy as I'd say about 20 of us are going to blizzcon this year.
