It was a good episode. Seems like next week they finally get to what they've been building this entire season around.

Yeah this episode wasn't the best, but we now know that Locke was groomed since childhood for his role. And we now have a pretty good idea of why only six people get off the island.

I think part of it was just plain bad acting. It also just is getting to the point where I 'm just sick of crazy shit. Plus yet another, hear all the answers but you can't have them now for a very stupid reason.

i couldn't help but laugh when John came out of the cabin

What was funny about it?

The episode wasn't particularly great, but was at least better than last weeks stinker.

If the episode features...

Jack, Kate - generally bad episode
Ben, John - generally good episode

Needs more Desmond.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

it was what he said.. I knew the island moved, but wasn't sure how.. but i think that Hurley has no idea that the island moved.. and if i was him I would laugh at how crazy that sounds

That'd be a bad move on the writers' part. Remember that Ben is trying to kill his woman.

Would he have? He has no reason to show his hand to Sawyer.

yeah he seems to take that stuff seriously... see his reaction to Karl/french woman's bodies.

well who knows how miles's ability or whatever works. remember how he demanded to be taken to naomi's body but later said there was no reason to bring her back to the boat because she was just meat. which i think suggests that he has to be in the particular place where a person died to do his thing, so he wouldn't necessarily notice if he were walking around with a zombie.

when did zombies come into the picture? If claire was dead, he'd be walking with a ghost at least, and her body would be somewhere on the island. But I don't think she's dead.

zombies, ghosts, semantics. point is, maybe it's environments he's attuned to rather than spirits.

maybe he did?

2 weeks ago in the house with hurley, sawyer, ben & locke. right before ben summons the smoke monster.

claire: "I'm a bit wobbly, but I'll live."

miles: "I wouldn't be too sure about that."

mm. don't think so. In his background flashback, he was talking to that kid that got killed by gangbangers to find out where the stash of drug money was.

*** although he does perceive past occurrences through the place of a death.

wow, I didn't pick up on that. I'll have to go back and see it. Thing is, why does everyone else continue to see her and how does she continue to be tangible.

yeah but usually anybody can talk to a ghost. it's not like the ghost talked back, it had to knock some books over or something.

I just rewatched it on abc.com. I can interpret it in two ways: either Miles knew something was off with Claire, or he was just being pessimistic about surviving the freighter guys outside.

but the point was he sensed its presence and as a clairvoyant he can "see" ghosts and would have known if Claire was one.

I'm just wondering who Matthew Abaddon was working for when he approached John Locke. In the future, he works for Widmore, so could Widmore have also been after Locke before the crash?

Banana
05-09-2008, 04:31 PM
^Why would you say he works for Widmore in the future? Did he actually say so when he went and visited hurley?

Or he could be Ben's spy, working within Widmore's organization. This would explain him choosing Daniel, Charlotte, Miles and Frank..

well then that's a mighty steep coincidence that when he told the ghost to show him where the money was the ghost showed him.

look man haven't you ever seen Ghost? they can observe people easily, they just can't talk back without help from a medium. and since the kid had to go all poltergeist instead of just telling him where the stash was hidden, we have no reason to assume Miles is a medium.

commando
05-09-2008, 05:35 PM
well Ghost is a different animal. I have no idea what Lost's theology is. I think I was just trying to prove that Miles can at least sense ghosts.

The one dude.... can't remember the name... who Ben killed the D.I. scientists for also appeared at the hospital where Locke was born and showed up to test him for "special schooling"? What's his deal? He's gotta be a widmore adversary, right?

good point. He's probably working for Widmore but acting as a spy for Ben. So Jacob had Ben arrange for Locke to get on the island

or something.
