if you are lucky enough to find someone else who knows all of the words to this song, get in the car, blare it at top volume, scream at the top of your lungs and enjoy.

This exact thing has happened to me. Usually the song ends up getting played twice in a row. MiS might be my favorite hard-rock SP song. maoi 04-28-2008, 01:46 PM Even I don't have the song memorized, and I know the lyrics to all MCIS era things. its my least fav song out of that entire era despite being an awesome song Rickpat12 04-28-2008, 01:47 PM Angel/BarbedWire/FuckYou/Desire. Great fucking song. redbreegull 04-28-2008, 01:59 PM Always thought this as well as the other songs on the Zero single sound a bit forced and contrived. It's still a good song, but it just has never hit me the way it seems to hit everyone else. Caine Walker 04-28-2008, 02:03 PM when you say that, i get the impression that you just don't realize just how bad this thread is you're right. i don't. thanks for being the authority on this. wHATcOLOR 04-28-2008, 02:04 PM you're welcome you son of a bitch BumbleBeeMouth 04-28-2008, 02:27 PM :O( i fucking love this song! i played it live, thats where the fun is. That little outro is probably the most fun thing to play ever. I never knew why the vocals were so low in the mix though. I think SP dislike this song as being one of those rock dinosaur things vbshlofbvgos 04-28-2008, 02:28 PM i might blast it but im not screaming at the top of my lungs. nope, you can't make me. Caine Walker 04-28-2008, 02:35 PM I think SP dislike this song as being one of those rock dinosaur things i remember reading that the rest of the band made fun of billy for this song. but he made them play it anyway. HA. Caine Walker 04-28-2008, 03:09 PM i don't know, let's ask him. hey wHATcOLOR, why are you being such a jerk? ??? 04-28-2008, 03:45 PM i believe it was Kahlo who once said "if ever there was a song that sounded like SP on autopilot, its God off the zero single" and i'm inclined to agree. and marquis takes second place. Slurpee 04-28-2008, 03:57 PM i believe it was Kahlo who once said "if ever there was a song that sounded like SP on autopilot, its God off the zero single" and i'm inclined to agree. and marquis takes second place. One person's "on autopilot" is another person's "in the zone" Caine Walker 04-28-2008, 04:35 PM i don't know, let's ask him. hey Slurpee, is autopilot a bad thing? CrabbMan 04-28-2008, 04:51 PM "....fucker" man in elementary school my friends and i loved that. Wow, you had the Zero single in elementary school? I was in early high school when I picked it up, which means I probably whacked off to the liner notes pic. BurtSampson 04-28-2008, 06:02 PM fucker. This. tcm 04-28-2008, 06:17 PM god blows, marquis rules, kahlo can suck it. MistaMista1 04-28-2008, 06:22 PM explain this "rock dinosaur" idea. hard for the sake of being hard? ??? 04-28-2008, 06:29 PM no we gotta ask isle. hey isle, is autopilot a bad thing? hard to say...i would say autopilot can be characterized by the use of a) some knowingly trite lyrics and b) a somewhat blasé delivery. but i guess it works for the songs, its not really a complaint BumbleBeeMouth 04-28-2008, 06:36 PM rock dinosaur basically means rock by numbers E powerchord G Barre etc. tcm 04-28-2008, 06:41 PM dinosaurs are cool, way cooler than people. tcm 04-28-2008, 06:42 PM t. rex is a good band. BumbleBeeMouth 04-28-2008, 06:46 PM i wouldnt argue with a dinosaur, nothing good would come out of it. duovamp 04-28-2008, 06:50 PM Stolen from the Gayforkmedia review of Machina imo. skipgo 04-28-2008, 07:10 PM marquis rules, kahlo can suck it. :banging: (didn't quote the whole thing cause i don't think god blows) it's weird this thread is here, because i've had this song playing in my head since i first got to work today. themadcaplaughs 04-28-2008, 08:39 PM Always thought this as well as the other songs on the Zero single sound a bit forced and contrived. It's still a good song, but it just has never hit me the way it seems to hit everyone else. Gotta agree with you man. For all of the praise the EP gets, I find most of it to be kinda boring. I cannot stand the song God, and the only part of Marquis in Spades that I like is that "fucker" in the beginning. The only song I really love on it is Pennies. Reyngel 04-28-2008, 09:34 PM The end of Marquis sounds so hardcore if you play it loud, I love it D. 04-28-2008, 09:57 PM I probably whacked off to the liner notes pic. glad i wasn't the only one MonteLDS 04-28-2008, 10:49 PM you win today's contest for lamest thread i couldn't agree more. we need less threads like this Eulogy 04-28-2008, 10:59 PM monte is just upset because he can't listen to the song because billy says "FUCK" in it twice. skipgo 04-28-2008, 11:02 PM monte's all about the hate tonight. tcm 04-28-2008, 11:05 PM god blows) :banging: skipgo 04-28-2008, 11:10 PM are you half-quoting me because i half-quoted you? andrewface 04-28-2008, 11:18 PM angels barbed wire FUCK YOUUUU desire tcm 04-28-2008, 11:18 PM reacharound is fair play. stumpycat 04-28-2008, 11:33 PM Wow, you had the Zero single in elementary school? I was in early high school when I picked it up, which means I probably whacked off to the liner notes pic. You sick bastard, she's not hot! At least not like that. You were the type that jacked off to pictures of saggy-boobed women in third world countries in National Geographic too, weren't you? redbreegull 04-29-2008, 12:40 AM I agree with the whole autopilot idea. I don't really get any solid emotional content out of the song at all, it just rocks hard. Which I mean, isn't always a bad thing, even Corgan once said there are lots of "dumb" songs that are still good songs. I'm just used to the bulk of the Pumpkins material always having that emotional pull to it I guess. Caine Walker 04-29-2008, 10:23 AM hoooooly crap that was awful. andrewface 04-29-2008, 06:03 PM yeah see you guys give monte an 8 page thread of "thank you youre the best" and now hes coming in and trashing threads left and right like he owns the fucking place. whos monte? arCHI 04-29-2008, 11:07 PM LOL now THAT was blase. i thought the singer was going to fall asleep during the solo... Faeomm 04-30-2008, 10:15 PM Amazing song. It's good to listen to while bitter. Corganist 04-30-2008, 10:42 PM I can sorta understand the "autopilot" stuff when it comes to "God," but I don't see how Marquis in Spades can be considered to in that category as well. I always thought that MiS and Mouth of Babes were a cut above the other stuff on the Zero EP (and TAFH as a whole, really). Of course, I love Marquis in Spades just for the part in the demo of it where Billy fakes the lyrics. "We know who you are, and where you live... something...something....YEAH!" pale blue eyes 07-19-2008, 11:18 AM  Great fucking song. . if there is a llama 07-19-2008, 01:26 PM Of course, I love Marquis in Spades just for the part in the demo of it where Billy fakes the lyrics. "We know who you are, and where you live... something...something....YEAH!" You took the words out of my mouth. |
