Someone at Bills was saying today that Mike Vanderheiden (Played with Funland... DFW people might remember.. "Angry Girl" from like 96?) had been in the studio with them. Dunno if thats a sign he's going to be touring bass player.... but funland has the common link of Clark so doesn't seem terribly far fetched. Same dude said Casey from Doosu was in the studio with them as well.
As long as it doesn't sound like burden brothers horse shit I'll be happy

i don't know much about this band, but i like them. Rubberneck has held up pretty well. Reminds me now of a heavier, less artsy Pixies. Sure the single was a little overplayed, but there are some other good songs on the album to make up for it.
If someone could upload the rarities to mediafire or something, that would be awesome.

Several new names appeared on both the Lollapalooza "Arist Discovery" pages yesterday, offering us a taste of who may be appearing in the next round of lineup additions.
Iron & Wine, the Toadies, Saul Williams, DeVotchKa, and Wild Sweet Orange are all new additions to Lollapalooza's discovery page, though since being discovered by fans, the pages have been removed.

New Press Release:
TOADIES ANNOUNCE :
20th ANNIVERSARY SHOW AT POSSUM KINGDOM LAKE
NEW TOADIES ALBUM THIS AUGUST
TOADIES TO PLAY LOLLAPALOOZA
Main Entry: Dia De Los Toadies.
(noun) : A historic concert taking place Labor Day Weekend featuring the Toadies performing for the first time at Possum Kingdom Lake, the inspiration behind their hit single, "Possum Kingdom."
The single "Possum Kingdom" from 1994's debut Toadies album Rubberneck catapulted the band to platinum selling success. Of the song drummer Mark Reznicek says, "I always thought it would be a good song to hear on the radio from the first time I heard it, but who could have predicted the longevity it would have? Nobody, that's who!" Preferring not to elaborate on most of his songs specifics meanings, Lewis says "With the song, 'Possum Kingdom' I really just tried to capture the beauty and eeriness of the lake after dark. It really is something."
Singer Vaden Todd Lewis explains, "We got the idea to do an annual event at a remote location...something with a different vibe than the usual club or street festival. And although I don't think we look a day over 15, this year marks the 20th anniversary for the band. Possum Kingdom seemed like the perfect place for both."
That's not all the Toadies have to celebrate. Toadies will release their first new album in over 7 years this summer. Toadies new cd, "No Deliverance" is scheduled to be in stores on August 19, 2008 - www.nodeliverance.com
Toadies have also announced today that they will be performing at this years Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago.
Dia De Los Toadies takes place on August 31, 2008 at Possum Hollow Camp. Gates open at 2 pm. Tejas Brothers, Backsliders and Lions are also on the bill. Tickets are on sale now from FrontGateTickets.com . Complete event information is available at www.DiaDeLosToadies.com. they are 192 and a lot better than what i got from back in the day, i went back and compared. Much cleaner, not mastered i don't believe but as good as you're going to get since i don't think they mastered any of it.

actually I know Waterfall and Joey, Let's Go were both mastered because they were the only two tracks recorded that didn't make HB/SA and were thus finished for b-side use. Of course proper singles were never released per Interscope.

The Toadies Reclaim Their “Kingdom” at Manic NYC Show
“Everything feels even better this time around — except the hangovers,” says Vaden Todd Lewis, frontman for post-grunge comeback kids the Toadies, during an early-morning conversation. “Those still feel the same.” He’s jokingly referring to his band’s reunited form, which has spawned a sold-out tour and a new album No Deliverance due in August. The group, most notorious for its hit “Possum Kingdom,” splintered several years ago after a struggle with their label over their second album and the departure of bass player Lisa Umbarger. After the occasional reunion show, Lewis finally got the band back together after the departure of two of the members of his other band Burden Brothers. “They just got burnt out,” Lewis explains. “So did I, really. I started to write songs that I realized were Toadies songs, and the other guys were into it, so we had to do it.”
The group also got a load of support from their rabid Internet fan base — impressive considering the band broke before the Internet age really kicked in. They also aren’t nervous about making their return in such a complicated era for the business. “For selfish reasons, I’m excited to see what happens to the majors,” says Lewis, referencing their tumultuous end at Interscope. “We’re on a small label now and doing exactly what we want to be doing.”
They’re also doing exactly what their fans want them to be doing if last night’s sold-out show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom is any indication. The band delivered a healthy mix of old favorites and new songs, and they sounded as though they’d been playing the fresh stuff (especially single “No Deliverance,” a bold mix of post-grunge aggression and spicy Texas roadhouse flair) as though they’d been skillfull executing the riffs for a decade. “The songs feel good,” says Lewis. “And in the end, it’s all about feeling good.”

"I Come from the Water" and "Backslider" performed acoustic on a rooftop in NYC.
I've seen the Toadies, oh, probably 12 or 13 times in my life. That was most likely the best I've ever seen them perform.
Set pretty much the same as posted earlier, but order was varied. And they closed with Mexican Hairless which was awesome. New songs sounded good - Flower is probably my favorite from the night.
And some motherfucker behind us kept screaming for Where Is My Mind - he got in a bit of a fight with someone and thrown out at the very end - haha.

New song descriptions? How were they, what were they like etc? It seems like Nothing to Cry About is the only new song that makes it up on Youtube.

Classic Toadies, I'd say - more along the lines of Rubberneck than HB/SA. Flower was heavy, similar to the depth of Plane Crash.
No Deliverance is on their MySpace and is more poppy, similar to Tyler I guess. I honestly can't describe the other two because I can't remember them in full.
Would someone mind RapidSharing or whatever this? I'd be greatly appreciative.
Except it doesn't have Mexican Hairless, which they absolutely tore through in Philly (probably the highlight of the show - they were laughing throughout the entire piece).

TOADIES
The Roxy Theatre, Hollywood, CA
February 10, 1995
Pre-FM Silver CD>Max>Audacity>xACT>flac level 5
Westwood One Entertainment presents...In Concert
Show #96-09 for broadcast the week of February 26, 1996
This is an excellent sounding Pre-FM show with Toadies recorded right before their mainstream debut album, Rubberneck, hit the charts.
I believe this is the entire show as almost every song from that album is played, plus the song, Paper Dress, which later appeared on the soundtrack album for "The Crow: City of Angels".
The original CD, designed for radio broadcast had only three tracks, each track had about twelve minutes of music first and then two minutes of commercials on each track. I separated the tracks individually and edited out the commercials. You can hear slight edits in between tracks 4 & 5 and 8 & 9.
No artwork, but I included 300 dpi scans of the cue sheets to be used by the radio DJ's during broadcast.
Enjoy and share. And TURN IT UP!!!

I do. I'd say my favorite stuff is from the 2001 tour era, in terms of setlist, performance, sound, and all aspects overall. They were great at that time all around.
Thanks for that link. That is indeed where the 2 mp3's came from. The tracks in question have the same ID3 tags as the 2 mp3's and even have the exact same filesizes. The mp3's were from that muxtape page.
It might be a little higher quality than an average webstream, depending where it came from. I know their set was broadcast on XM radio so that could be a possible source, but the online XM streams in my experience are lower quality than these MP3's. If they're not from regular XM satellite radio, maybe they could have come from a good quality webstream from somewhere else. I wasn't aware of any official Lollapalooza-based stream for The Toadies since their set was left out of the official video streams, but I'm not sure what other streams may have existed so I guess it's possible.

SPIN ARTIST OF THE DAY
http://www.spin.com/articles/toadies
Reunited '90s rockers rekindle love with grunge and growling guitars on their authentic comeback disc No Deliverance, out tomorrow (Aug. 19). Stream album track "I Am a Man of Stone" here.
What? It was all Discmans, FM radio, and the tail-end of the flannel era when Toadies frontman Vaden Todd Lewis offered to take us "behind the boathouse" to show his "dark secret" on the band's 1994 crossover hit "Possum Kingdom." But put on the Toadies' brand new record, No Deliverance, and the fourteen years since all but disappear.
Lewis originally spilled details about the group's reunion to SPIN.com this past spring, calling the new batch of songs "the most bare knuckle record" he's ever worked on, and when we premiered "No Deliverance," the aggressive first taste from new LP, Toadies certainly delivered on the promise. Album opener and domestic disturbance tale "So Long Lovely Eyes," cements the claim as the punishing power-chord crunch kills relentlessly from the get-go, with Lewis growling profanities like it was still the Clinton years. No Deliverance drops Aug. 19 via Kirtland Records.
Who? Beginning in 2001, a seven-year hiatus saw Toadies vocalist/guitarist Vaden Todd Lewis working with his other creative outlet, the Burden Brothers -- but some musical chemistries just can't be matched. After a few phone calls, Lewis re-enlisted Toadies drummer Mark Reznicek and guitarist Clark Vogeler, and even without original bassist Lisa Umbarger, the Fort Worth, TX alt-rock band felt whole again and set out to make their third album and first since 2001's Hell Below / Stars Above. Now featuring Doni Blair on the low-end, Toadies plan to head out on extended tour in support of No Deliverance.
Fun Fact: The Toadies have always been a fan of some light-hearted self-mythologizing, perpetuating a bevy of rumors including that their manager enjoyed decapitating Barbie dolls, that drummer Reznicek had become a U.S. Olympian as an archer, and even that original bassist Lisa Umbarger donned a furry costume and acted as an Ewok in a Star Wars movie.

I need your help!!!
I know I am new here, but I have had a hard time locating Toadies concerts in FLAC or MP3. I have gotten the few posted on here, but I can't find anymore on the net.
Since this is the only forum that seems to like to share concert recordings I thought I would ask you guys.
I have been to two of the shows on the tour (Las Vegas, and Cats Cradle - NC) and would love to get either of those. I am sure that the LV show will be hard to find due to the security they had getting into the place and the lack of even letting a camera past the front door.
Anyways can any of you help? If not do you know any other forums that might list toadies concerts? I looked on the toadies website, but there was nothing about live shows.
Thanks in advance!!!
BTW - Both concerts I went to on this tour ROCKED. The energy that the Todies puts into a show is amazing. I saw them back in 95 as well. My only disapointment was that the song Velvet was not played at either show I have attended.

Unfortunately, new Toadies live show recordings are hard to come by. It appears not many people are recording the shows. The only 2008 shows I'm aware of are the following:
2008-06-25 Black Cat, Washington, DC
ZOMB Torrents - Login (http://zombtracker.the-zomb.com/details.php?id=24711)
If I come across any others, I'll post them here.

EDIT: the 2009 dates I posted are not for the Toadies. sorry.

New Single - SONG I HATE! This is a new version of the song. The guys just got out of the studio and the song will be going to radio in late March. The new version is uploaded at Fancorps and you can download it for a limited time FREE @ www.myspace.com/toadies (http://www.myspace.com/toadies).
New Tour - Toadies will hit the road again in April and May, playing shows coast to coast. Dates should be announced in a few weeks.

I wish they would come back through NC again. The show back in Nov. (?) was pretty good. Sometimes the amount of young die-hard Toadies fans weirds me out.
