Some of Howerdel's guitar work with APC was awesome but this is a significant downgrade. I thought for sure he was going to take the female singer route and tone things down a bit like he had originally intended with APC--this is just nu-metal bullshit.

I'm not a big fan. I liked a handful of APC songs, but this just sounds incredibly safe and dull to my ears.

I really like the lead guitar tone and the arrangements on Mer De Noms. I think APC's debut is actually a little better than Gish. Howerdells guitar playing seems a bit more imaginative.

Aside from that it's kind of hard to compare because Corgan has a much larger body of work.

APC sounded like Tool when I saw them on their debut tour. I wasn't terribly impressed. They rocked, but still sounded too much like Tool for me to validate it as a side project for the Nard.

This song has caught my attention several times on the radio, but I had no idea who Ashes Divide were or what their history was. I know now why the song grabbed me so quickly -- Howerdel has got amazing talent. This sounds nothing like APC or Tool; it's a fresh direction, and a good one. Not wonderful, but it says something about the song that I picked it out amongst the garbage of modern radio with no predisposed ideas about it. Truly a diamond in the rough.

I know what album I'll be buying this coming Tuesday.

what i can make out of the lyrics is pretty bad, but i don't really care. his voice is...alright.

the vocal melody in the chorus really does it for me though. i'm pretty excited for the album.

although that pause after "change" seems too abrupt or something.

Pretty bad nu-metal sound. Those chugging chords that stop and start is what makes it sound the most like bad breaking benjamin style music. His voice isn't bad, and suits the song I think, I just don't think that song is any good.
