It's 2:30am here and I just woke up....I think I might stay up for a while, just give it a whirl.

Did you start to hallucinate? That would be pretty spectacular.
They'd be giving you EST and maybe a lobotomy right about now.

You should've just continued with the method, and stayed up...forever.

Alright, speaking of which, I'm going back to sleep dude.

I'm getting really into the concept of an all nighter right about now

I can't STAND to stay awake for more than 16-20 hours. I don't know how people force themselves to consistently go without sleep for more than a day.

i wish i had a good healthy steady sleep rhythm

currently i'm always trying to be in bed by 1 or 2 am and sleep about 10 hours but i'm still tired assfuck

there's a really good heightened awareness "high" let's call it after you've been up for 20-24 hours. it gets dangerous past the 36 hour mark though because, at least from my experience, that's then the panic and shadows/weird eye movements start. but it's great to feel so creative in between. just gotta be careful to go to sleep before it gets scary.

Not so good when you're ni the middle of driving. Not sure if its the same thing but I was comnig home from death valley and i hadn't had a full rest in 3 days (some napping though), and it was 2 am driving down the highway, nearly nodding off, but i was driving in a dark tunnel and i see distant red lights and i think whatever but then my mind suddenly snaps and those red lights aren't distant at all but rather from the rear of a trailer that i was about to rear end until i thankfully swerved out of the way. also i wasn't in a tunnel at all, but just surrouding trucks :(

kinda crazy of you to be driving when you're that tired :(

I've only pulled an all nighter a few times in my life. I don't think I've ever been up for 24 straight hours. Almost was last semester when I had to get emergency surgery to take my appendix out, but I got put under a half hour before the 24 hour mark.

indeed. but this line is impossible for me to spot. after 20 hours everything bleeds into an out of body feeling combined with thinking normal circumstances have been blown surreal and strike me like constant omens. schitz. :(

i had an all nighter just the other night. i had stayed up late and before i knew it it was 4 Am. after a while i just got untired, plus i figured it would be stupid to go to bed and get a few hours of sleep since i had class so i just stayed up. i surprisingly functioned rather well.

i only did it once, and it was because i had an exam at 8:00 or something the next morning, and i couldn't sleep. so at about 3:00 i just said 'fuck it' and decided to just stay up. went and took the test (was able to do well because it was a multiple choice test, thank god), came back to my room and passed the fuck out. it was a nice feeling.

i don't think i could do it and function for all of the next day. yeesh.

oh, no wait. there was another unintentional all-nighter. i was home last fall for some reason. i stayed up kind of late watching hard candy, and then i couldn't sleep. no idea why. so i went and got some coffee around 6, went to a soccer game, went to a friend's house where we eventually started drinking and whatnot. i kept dozing off at the house. i felt like an idiot.

so basically i need to sleep every night i guess.

does it count as an all-nighter if you go to sleep before the next evening?

Thanks for putting other people's lives in danger, you fool. If you want to stay up all the time, that's your decision, but don't drive if you haven't seriously slept in three days.

I do all nighters pretty regularly, maybe you should take harder courses so you can adapt to the pain. It's a useful tolerance to build up, just saying.
