make this the last season so it retains its dignity

It's been pretty awful since every episode became a screamingly obvious commentary on the week's current hot subject - which I said before on here but was met with some serious opposition.

*cough*

I liked the WoW episode, and the Micheal J episode...and also the Persian episode with the lesbians...but.
Yeah, it's going downhill.

Imaginationland was one of the show's all-time peaks. as was the Tourette's episode.

Tonight's had its moments. it has not run out of steam.

ahh come on! the last 2 seasons have been great. ... sure they over do the social commentary a little but they keep the formula fresh. Simpsons by season 10-11 was a lame duck.

Yeah Imaginationland was awesome...that little song that that fuck off did while riding the skyboat was extremely hilarious....I wonder if they have that on youtube.

I don't know about that. I thought it's been pretty shitty for the past few years but there were actually some really good episodes last season. Tonights episode was alright nothing great though. Kyle has progressively become the most annoying character on the show. The whole constant stint going between him and cartman has grown very old.

edit: Imaginationland was one of the show's all-time peaks. as was the Tourette's episode.

Imaginationland was shit. They made a big deal about the 3 episode saga which wasn't that funny.

Seasons 10 and 11 were great. It was halfway through 12 when it hit a wall and died.

the africa bit they did in the end was in bad taste.

this was a pretty shitty episode, south park may be on a decline but its still decent entertainment.

actually i remember you said the show always sucked and was stupid

do you live in your own reality or something?

duovamp

Yeah sure I do. I was waiting for you to show up here. If you could quote me though I'd appreciate it. Though the post you quoted says nothing of it not always being bad, just especially so as of late. The two aren't contradictions.

It's a solid start-off. The Imagination trilogy was proof enough they've still got it.
6.5 lame HIV-jokes out of 10.

"You see, we have AIDS!"
- "AIDS?! Wow, that's really... retro."

And why does Black's new show suck? :( I haven't seen it yet.

seriously. if this is an example of a "shitty episode" i'm fine with that.

I actually love it when they push ridiculous jokes in bad taste like the HIV+ thing. It reminds me of the episode where Stan coaches the hockey team, they had two Steve Irwin death jokes that were absurdly funny just for their impropriety.

South Park at its worst is still better than Family Guy at its best. At least South Park is clever at times. Calling Family Guy "lowbrow" is being too kind. It's utter garbage that only stoned/drunk college kids think is funny.

family's guys plots and characters are practically interchangeable. oh and did anyone hear Cleveland is getting his own spinoff? it should be as unfunny as American Dad

Mo
03-13-2008, 08:32 PM
American Dad improved a lot.
And of course almost everything in Family Guy interchangeable - but if you believe the wise words of Seth MacFarlane, that's the purpose of the show. And, at least in my opinion, it cracks me up every time.

BTW - that Cleveland spin-off was a joke, right?
