make this the last season so it retains its dignity

View Full Version : South Park has run out of steam MeAndMyLlama 03-12-2008, 09:50 PM make this the last season so it retains its dignity duovamp 03-12-2008, 09:53 PM It's been pretty awful since every episode became a screamingly obvious commentary on the week's current hot subject - which I said before on here but was met with some serious opposition. *cough* ella 03-12-2008, 09:58 PM I liked the WoW episode, and the Micheal J episode...and also the Persian episode with the lesbians...but. Yeah, it's going downhill. Eulogy 03-12-2008, 10:00 PM Imaginationland was one of the show's all-time peaks. as was the Tourette's episode. Tonight's had its moments. it has not run out of steam. fluxequalsrad 03-12-2008, 10:00 PM ahh come on! the last 2 seasons have been great. ... sure they over do the social commentary a little but they keep the formula fresh. Simpsons by season 10-11 was a lame duck. ella 03-12-2008, 10:01 PM Yeah Imaginationland was awesome...that little song that that fuck off did while riding the skyboat was extremely hilarious....I wonder if they have that on youtube. redbull 03-12-2008, 10:03 PM season before last blew, last was ok Banana 03-12-2008, 10:04 PM I don't know about that. I thought it's been pretty shitty for the past few years but there were actually some really good episodes last season. Tonights episode was alright nothing great though. Kyle has progressively become the most annoying character on the show. The whole constant stint going between him and cartman has grown very old. edit: Imaginationland was one of the show's all-time peaks. as was the Tourette's episode. Tonight's had its moments. it has not run out of steam. Imaginationland was shit. They made a big deal about the 3 episode saga which wasn't that funny. duovamp 03-12-2008, 10:05 PM ahh come on! the last 2 seasons have been great. ... sure they over do the social commentary a little but they keep the formula fresh. Simpsons by season 10-11 was a lame duck. Seasons 10 and 11 were great. It was halfway through 12 when it hit a wall and died. Eulogy 03-12-2008, 10:05 PM season before last blew, last was ok warcraft, dog whisperer, urinal deuce, dog the bounty hunter....that was a good season too. Eulogy 03-12-2008, 10:06 PM Seasons 10 and 11 were great. It was halfway through 12 when it hit a wall and died. yeah season 12 just started. do any of you know what you're talking about Eulogy 03-12-2008, 10:07 PM and D-yikes!, le petit tourette, and imaginationland were in the second half of season 11. so what are you talking about? duovamp 03-12-2008, 10:14 PM yeah season 12 just started. do any of you know what you're talking about The Simpsons. duovamp 03-12-2008, 10:18 PM C'mon Eulogy, recognize your mistake and apologize. Eulogy 03-12-2008, 10:23 PM ohhhhh yeah i didn't read that very carefully, did i. my bad duovamp 03-12-2008, 10:26 PM You're a good man Eulogy. hnibos 03-12-2008, 11:36 PM the africa bit they did in the end was in bad taste. this was a pretty shitty episode, south park may be on a decline but its still decent entertainment. Phoenix Down 03-13-2008, 12:30 AM it's not going downhill. Imaginationland was great, so was Cartman Sucks. Trotskilicious 03-13-2008, 12:58 AM It's been pretty awful since every episode became a screamingly obvious commentary on the week's current hot subject - which I said before on here but was met with some serious opposition. *cough* actually i remember you said the show always sucked and was stupid do you live in your own reality or something? duovamp 03-13-2008, 01:05 AM Yeah sure I do. I was waiting for you to show up here. If you could quote me though I'd appreciate it. Though the post you quoted says nothing of it not always being bad, just especially so as of late. The two aren't contradictions. duovamp 03-13-2008, 01:13 AM Let's see, now that you've revealed your inability to argue this is when you say "Shut the fuck up" as if to admit defeat. Mo 03-13-2008, 02:51 AM You say that after episode 12x01? TuralyonW3 03-13-2008, 02:54 AM still the greatest show on tv Mo 03-13-2008, 03:22 AM I like the new intro. Mo 03-13-2008, 03:28 AM Aidsburger in paradise, aidsburger and it ain't nice. sickbadthing 03-13-2008, 04:26 AM it's hit and miss. it's better than the new shitty show with Lewis Black by far... Mo 03-13-2008, 05:07 AM It's a solid start-off. The Imagination trilogy was proof enough they've still got it. 6.5 lame HIV-jokes out of 10. "You see, we have AIDS!" - "AIDS?! Wow, that's really... retro." And why does Black's new show suck? :( I haven't seen it yet. Trotskilicious 03-13-2008, 06:28 AM Let's see, now that you've revealed your inability to argue this is when you say "Shut the fuck up" as if to admit defeat. Maybe I just want to slap you because you're an idiotic tool. mpp 03-13-2008, 08:59 AM god last night's was so funny cureburger in paradise, cureburger, so i said it twice Caine Walker 03-13-2008, 09:18 AM i haven't seen a new episode of south park since college. i also haven't had cable in about that long. somehow, i don't think i'm missing much. Mo 03-13-2008, 09:21 AM I think you are - I for one am glad the show's finally back. Six more episodes this half season. Jonny5 03-13-2008, 12:23 PM Yeah Imaginationland was awesome...that little song that that fuck off did while riding the skyboat was extremely hilarious....I wonder if they have that on youtube. and when they tried singing it back later. "no, no. i think that's where he made that half-step key change." Banana 03-13-2008, 01:05 PM I don't understand how you people liked Imaginationland. The first part of it was good but the other 2 episodes sucked. Eulogy 03-13-2008, 01:50 PM i haven't seen a new episode of south park since college. i also haven't had cable in about that long. somehow, i don't think i'm missing much. oh. you are. believe me. not the most consistent show ever, but man, there are some gems. Eulogy 03-13-2008, 01:51 PM Banana03's avatar is freaking me out Nimrod's Son 03-13-2008, 02:46 PM The running theme that AIDS is a "retro" "80's-90's" disease and that cancer is the new fad was incredible Fattening Ass 03-13-2008, 02:53 PM last nite's episode wasn't the best, but it had its moments. Great show. Richard III 03-13-2008, 03:12 PM I liked the first couple of seasons then lost interest. imo they think they're cleverer than they are. Nimrod's Son 03-13-2008, 03:13 PM last nite's episode wasn't the best, but it had its moments. Great show. seriously. if this is an example of a "shitty episode" i'm fine with that. "why don't you apologize for tattling, kyle?" "HE GAVE ME AIDS." "nobody likes a tattletale, Kyle" Eulogy 03-13-2008, 03:14 PM -Nothing about this is funny. -Are you sure? -YES! -Are you HIV+? Richard III 03-13-2008, 03:15 PM It's all a bit obvious isnt it. Mablak 03-13-2008, 03:22 PM I actually love it when they push ridiculous jokes in bad taste like the HIV+ thing. It reminds me of the episode where Stan coaches the hockey team, they had two Steve Irwin death jokes that were absurdly funny just for their impropriety. Mo 03-13-2008, 03:24 PM Stanley's Cup was another instant classic. "Stan Marsh durpdee durpdee durp." Richard III 03-13-2008, 03:27 PM I actually love it when they push ridiculous jokes in bad taste like the HIV+ thing. It reminds me of the episode where Stan coaches the hockey team, they had two Steve Irwin death jokes that were absurdly funny just for their impropriety. Reminds me of when I was at school. Shapan 03-13-2008, 04:39 PM It's been pretty awful since every episode became a screamingly obvious commentary on the week's current hot subject - which I said before on here but was met with some serious opposition. *cough* i know duovamp has me on ignore but seriously is this suppose to be insightful? its one thing to say i think too much of myself but its another thing to let this guy think anything of anything he says Tchocky 03-13-2008, 05:51 PM South Park at its worst is still better than Family Guy at its best. At least South Park is clever at times. Calling Family Guy "lowbrow" is being too kind. It's utter garbage that only stoned/drunk college kids think is funny. hnibos 03-13-2008, 05:55 PM i take offense to that hnibos 03-13-2008, 05:55 PM FAMILY GUY IS NOT MY KIND OF SENSE OF HUMOR! redbull 03-13-2008, 05:56 PM family guy is funny occasionally Tchocky 03-13-2008, 06:40 PM family guy is funny occasionally True, but then again even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Nimrod's Son 03-13-2008, 07:21 PM family's guys plots and characters are practically interchangeable. oh and did anyone hear Cleveland is getting his own spinoff? it should be as unfunny as American Dad Mo 03-13-2008, 08:32 PM American Dad improved a lot. And of course almost everything in Family Guy interchangeable - but if you believe the wise words of Seth MacFarlane, that's the purpose of the show. And, at least in my opinion, it cracks me up every time. BTW - that Cleveland spin-off was a joke, right? Nimrod's Son 03-13-2008, 08:35 PM American Dad improved a lot. And of course almost everything in Family Guy interchangeable - but if you believe the wise words of Seth MacFarlane, that's the purpose of the show. And, at least in my opinion, it cracks me up every time. BTW - that Cleveland spin-off was a joke, right? nope Dead Frequency 03-13-2008, 08:39 PM the asspen episode was great. also butters is hilarious. like when that huge polar bear screams at him to imagine santa back so they can win the war. Trotskilicious 03-14-2008, 08:17 AM I moved to put Banana03 on my ignore list and when i found out his IM name was Koy 10 Detmer I was sure of it. Eulogy 03-14-2008, 10:24 AM a cleveland spin-off? good lord that cannot be good. and i enjoy family guy to a point. i'll usually watch it if i see it on. some of the older episodes are actually really funny. JapanAlex 03-14-2008, 10:43 AM Imaginationland was one of the show's all-time peaks. as was the Tourette's episode. Tonight's had its moments. it has not run out of steam. absolutely right! last two seasons have been the best ones yet! I have been alone in my room for 8 months I have seen all simpsons/ family guy/ scrubs/ lost (although i hate it) american dad oh god the list goes on  IM SUCH A LOOOSER  Caine Walker 03-14-2008, 10:55 AM goddammit, what the hell is wrong with you?
