Also, "Singing in the Rain" during the Clockwork Orange home invasion scene... and the song right after Hatori Hanzo gives Uma the Hanzo sword in Kill Bill.

Last edit... Where is my Mind at the end of Fight Club.

I gotta say that The Shield is probably the best at this of any TV show still on the air. The season enders are almost always perfect. I'm not a Live fan at all but they used "Overcome" to end Season 2 (the money train etc) and it was fucking perfect. Watching that episode still gives me chills.

Edit:

Definetly agree with the first post. Never thought Where Is My Mind was as mindblowing at the end of Fight Club as everyone else seems to, though.

Opening scene of Trainspotting is good too.

Yeah, that whole soundtrack is rather great. Especially for it's day.

And I don't know how I forgot SCORSESEEEEEE! Especially the scene in goodfellas after DeNiro kills everyone (aftermath of the airport heist). edit: I think it's in Nimrod's Son (http://forums.netphoria.org/member.php?u=6003)'s first video from the first few frames.

And while I'm here... That movie Funny Games looks fucking awesome. Anyone seen the original? I heard this remake is shot for shot so... I wanna know how the original was.

the music to blade runner is pretty stunning to me in combination with the imagery. especially when the female replicant gets shot and crashes through a bunch of mirrors in slow motion.

That movie Funny Games looks fucking awesome. Anyone seen the original? I heard this remake is shot for shot so... I wanna know how the original was.

It was...effective. There's a bizarre moment toward the end that I don't think achieves what Haneke was going for (you'll know it when you see it and shout "WHAT THE FUCK?!"), but the overall message is still there. If you are looking for a "fucking awesome" movie, Funny Games is definitely not it. More like "this movie is going to sit you down and explain why you should never think a violent movie is 'fucking awesome' ever again."

You should definately check out Caché if you enjoyed Funny Games. As well as The Piano Teacher.

Thanks mom! I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe that you didn't mean to sound so condescending. You just really reminded me of that guy from Good Will Hunting... You know, the "How do you like THEM apples" guy that tries to belittle Matt Damon? I meant awesome by I heard a lot of good things about the original and I really like 3 out of 5 of the main actors featured in this movie (I don't know who the son is or the second killer). I've also read (too) many spoilers and I want to see how it plays out (esp. the breaking the 4th wall bit and a few other things that I don't want to spoil for anyone else including the fates of all 5 main characters).

I'll be sure to put an advisory below my next 2-second stream-of-conscious post, for you overly sensitive types. I mean, I'll try to be more fucking awesome next time.

RE: Cache + The Piano Teacher

Just added both to my Blockbuster cue, thanks :)

I seen the original Funny Games, it was okay but not terrible. By the way, I just saw the trailer for the American version (starring Naomi Watts) and it looks like they recreated the film exactly like the original, but with different actors (nothing looks unique). Here's the link:

Hmm, not my intention. Just jumping on your turn of phrase as something Haneke is railing against (though I understand you didn't mean it in a  torture and gore  kind of way). I don't know, the movie kind of shook me up, so I'm not so good at talking about it.

:) I'm probably going to wait for the dvd now anyway. A few friends seen a sneak preview tonight and really hated it :/ I'll probably see Horton with my god-daughters instead. And to whoever above said it looks exactly like the original... It's supposed to be a shot-for-shot remake.
