Teens need to hear the dual message that STDs can be prevented by abstinence and condoms, said Dr. Ellen Kruger, an obstetrician-gynecologist at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.
"You've got to hammer at them," with appropriate information at each stage of teen development to make sure it sinks in, she said.

You can give at least some credit to the fundamentalists embedded with the current administration for pushing abstinence-only sex education over the past few years. Teens have sex. It's a fact. They need a proper education.

This country is falling apart.

But it's at an alarming rate.

Socially and economically, we are fucked if things do not SERIOUSLY change.

Or just stupid. It's not always their fault though; again, going back to the point about how fucked up our society is...

She likely never goes out and figures its not worth the time/money/frustration.

Plus they have short lifespans anyway, note that most people like her don't get past their 30's, she's in her 40's. If the shortening of those teeth required any type of surgery or serious medical procedure, its hard on the body if you are towards the end of your lifespan.

i really don't think it would be all that intense of a process. i could be wrong...but i dunno. people get all kinds of shit done to their teeth all the time. i wouldn't think shaving them down or just pulling them and replacing them with false ones would be that difficult.
