does anyone here skateboard or longboard?

i go every day and skate about 2 miles. longboarding. on flat land, not bombing any hills or anything. atleast not on my work break. i'm riding a pre-build arbor board, and its okay. i used to "street" skateboard when i was a teenager, right when the front tail was starting to make an appearance and freestyle boards got all melded together with street boards, i got sponsored after landing 4th place in a va beach skate contest, and then i moved to the mountains and thats when i got fat and quit. but now im all in better shape and whatnot and i dont give a fuck about mountains, and bombing down a mountainside road is actually really fun. ON DRUGS. and im building a new board from scratch for my girlfriend and its going to be AWESOME. its a surf one board, and im getting paris 180mm trucks, and i bought some bootleg wheels from some dude that makes carbon fiber boards out of his garage. im only putting bones reds bearings on it, cuz dropping 50 bucks for bones swiss bearings is a bit much isnt it? right? right?

but does anyone here skate or have skating experience? anyone ride bigwheels?

i love bigwheels. i was sponsored by Big Wheel. and then my dad bought an island off the gulf and i had to go into seclusion and bigwheel on a private track.

so does anyone skateboard or longboard?

I used to, quite a lot, until I was 14 or 15, and I've only tried longboarding twice.

longboarding is harder in some ways and easier in others. its much heavier, more wood, bigger wheels, different weight distribution. but its easier to kinda stand and cruise around on without flipping your board into the side of a car for beginner types. its easier to learn balance on. although i really miss skateboarding too. skate skate skate as fast as you can yeah skate skate skate tear up the land yeah skate skate skate well come as you are yeah skate skate skate, drive a beat up car. UNF. my board has super loose trucks so you just think about carving and you turn or fall off. but i rode by office-mates board yesterday that was tighter and it was alot funner to go fast because it was much more stable and easier to carve down hills.

i have an amazing sector 9 longboard back in scotland, while i was at uni in edinburgh there were some amazing runs.
i never really got into skating, i found long boarding to be more like snowboarding or surfing so i preferred it

have you had any bad burns ?

The thing that bugged me the most about skateboarding was the cult around all those brands. THAT'S AN INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION, MOTHERFUCKER - why do I have to wear a huge logo of some sort on my hoodie just to be cool or accepted by your stupid friends?
Of course I still bought them.

yep, basically.

It's what every skater kid did during school hours when they couldn't skate for real until they got to like 10th grade and realized it was totally retarded and made them look like douches and dropped it.

sector 9 makes good shite, i like their stuff.

i've had awful road rash incidents.... i was probably going 20-25 down a really long steep hill, got the wobblies and then hit a divot and then a rock. my board stayed still and i flew about 10 feet in front, right shoulder first and dug into this really chunky asphalt. i was picking out rocks for days. i havent had any big biffs lately. i've fallen on my back and on my side, but its always been when im goofing off in the parking lot standing still.

yeah... it got all commercial. remember gator? that documentary about him and the murder is really, really good. i used to own one of his boards, with the black and white triangle psychedelicness. remember POSERS? i loved getting in arguments with people on whether they were posers or not.

i used to skate but i always sucked. I used to blame it on being a girl, but that was a weak excuse. I just sucked because I sucked. It took me years to learn to ollie. But now i can impress the 12 year old skater kids in the neighborhood, being the only 33 year old mom who can ollie.

I had a friend in high school who was really down after his girlfriend broke up with him, so he would play with the little fingerboard things fucking constantly. Like as an outlet for his emotional frustration. Or something.

there was a time i would skate everyday. mostly because it was a fun thing to do with friends. i could only do a small handful of tricks, but enough to get around and have fun. my favorite things to skate were small sets of stairs or loading docks, yellow-painted curbs, and the boardwalk by the beach.

I big wheel with a 70's style board (enjoi board...bot it last year)...so I'm like somewhere between a longboard and a regular one.

I have much more fun just shootin' the breeze on the 70's board, but when I sesh the mini ramp its gotta be just a normal board..

I love skateboarding.

yeah mang, you are invited to grind my coffin and if you fall in, we can spend an eternity together 6 feet under. hot.

longboards are starting to show up a ton out here too. i saw two emo girls at the park riding some at the park yesterday. they must sell them at hot topic now. skateboarding has always gotten a bad rap from "the man". when i was a youngin we had "skateboarding is not a crime" stickers and tshirts and were always trying to slap the stickers on cop cars so we could snigger about it later. i wonder if they have them still. i wanna up my angst. i think its illegal to skateboard pretty much anywhere here. i'm going to hit a 40% road drop hill in one hour from now. ill see if i can get my camera charged up in time, whatcolor.
