View Full Version : The manual for a Prius is a ridiculous 500+ page book.
Debaser 03-04-2008, 11:10 AM ...and thats not counting another big book just on the navigation system.
After a six month delay, where I putted around with a company car, basking in a no car payment lifestyle, I finally got around to acquiring a new 2008 Black Prius. Yay for me.
twice 03-04-2008, 11:17 AM high five. go you!!:banging:

twice 03-04-2008, 11:21 AM the other night when i was watching lost, for whatever reason, i thought of you and that time we saw imperial teen at the GAM hall. i wish i hadn't been such a douche all nervy about monet's hissy fits and talked to you more back then.
Warsaw 03-04-2008, 11:21 AM The service manual on that thing must be several volumes.
Debaser 03-04-2008, 11:24 AM what does it say
I'll tell you after I finish reading it.
sppunk 03-04-2008, 11:25 AM I would like a five-page report, double-spaced in 12 point Times New Roman font, no later than Thursday morning at 11 a.m. Eastern.

Amazing. I watch Lost, too! Don't worry, I'm a lot more boring than even my internet persona.

ach. i have no clever retort.
Just sitting down in the car as they showed me a "quick" superficial rundown of how to work all the doo-hickeys and whatchamacallits and stereo and nav and bluetooth phone and smart key system and blahalhkajlfkj took over a half hour. My eyes glazed over after awhile and all I could think of is how bad this headache I have is and I haven't eaten in 9 hours.
twice 03-04-2008, 11:32 AM nonsense. i remember wishing there could be a way i could listen to your conversations with jared without you guys being aware just so i could hear how funny and not feel like a creepy girl for it either. i secretly love the magic bond between two men. :(
Debaser 03-04-2008, 11:33 AM I never have to take the key (fob) out of my pocket to open and start the car! amazing. you start the car by pushing a button. yes. a. button. i tells you!
Debaser 03-05-2008, 10:32 AM old and busted:

our Versa has that (it's a turn thing not a button)- and the keyless entry, it's sweet
although, I've nearly forgotten to turn the car off once or twice now...
wHATcOLOR 03-05-2008, 01:00 PM nice man. i've never read the manual on mine, can you let me know if you come across something you think i really oughtta know?
edit: also, congrats!!
Debaser 03-05-2008, 01:11 PM hmmmm...i came across on the internets supposedly a way to turn off the beeping from the rear view camera when in reverse. have you done that?
wHATcOLOR 03-05-2008, 01:24 PM no, i'd like to hear about it though. i think three beeps would suffice, y'know? i didn't get mine with the gps or the nav system, though my friend did and there's a way to trick it into letting you input things when driving
Debaser 03-05-2008, 01:31 PM http://www.wikihow.com/Disable-Reverse-Beep-in-a-Toyota-Prius
eh, i dunno if its worth the effort.
yeah i had to get a nav system. after having a nav system with my previous car, i vowed to never get any future cars without one.
Debaser 03-05-2008, 01:32 PM i just read that you can turn off the car while in motion if you hold down the power button for more than three seconds
Luke de Spa 03-05-2008, 01:34 PM should've titled the thread "look at me, i bought a prius"
Debaser 03-05-2008, 01:36 PM too right.
Debaser 03-05-2008, 01:37 PM look at me, I went from a sports car Nissan 350z to a hybrid Toyota Prius
Debaser 03-05-2008, 01:38 PM look at me, I'm a looney lefty annoying self righteous environmental wannabe
Debaser 03-05-2008, 01:39 PM look at me, I think I'm better than everybody
Debaser 03-05-2008, 01:40 PM look at me, i'm bored at work and only car about my own thread
Debaser 03-05-2008, 01:40 PM look at me, im inflating my post count with filler
Fattening Ass 03-05-2008, 01:42 PM Im not a fan of that car's design. its pretty ugly.
Debaser 03-05-2008, 01:45 PM not an uncommon opinion amongst my friends
Fattening Ass 03-05-2008, 01:50 PM but i think the benefits of its mpg and all those dohickeys outweigh its inability to look good.
Dead Frequency 03-05-2008, 02:00 PM but i think the benefits of its mpg and all those dohickeys outweigh its inability to look good.
what about the smart car?
