between cds, cassettes, videotapes, dvds, commerical bootlegs like sunshine of your love, black sessions and so on, posters, shirts, a hat, concert tickets, magazines, stickers, two tattoos; i figure i've spent at least a couple thousand or so. But I'm not the collector a lot of you are, and i haven't done nearly as much traveling to shows as many of you, so i think i haven't spent even close to what some of you have. Anyone want to take a guess at how much money you've given to bill (and the people he has to split it with) over the years?

I sell illegal bootlegs.

Seriously, after buying most offical releases (more than once in many cases), concert tickets, bootlegs, EPs, and merchandising items such as posters and tshirts during my early years, I'd say I've spent around one grand, or so. That's actually very little when I think about how much entertainment or pleasure I've gotten from the band over the years.

jeez, i dont wanna think about this, including tickets etc, at least 3000 pounds over the years, so roughly 6000 dollars, i'll just say that is over a long period of time so as not to sound as bad, but in truth i only started collecting in about 2001.

by a really really rough estimate probably 600-700 dollars. thats a lot less then what i was expecting but that low amount comes from only having seeing them twice. and i never travelled far to see them or paid money out the ass for something like the last SP1 shows like a lot of folks here have. i have about 30+ CDs, a couple vinyls of SP and I've only bought a few SP shirts in my life time.

The albums Ive actually bought instead of dling them/receiving them were

MCIS
Adore
Machina
Gish
Zeitgeist
Corgan Solo
Jimmy Chamberline Complex
So I'd say around $110 for that.

Also bought a smashing pumpkins tshirt off of ebay, Ill guess 10 bucks for that.

And than I bought a ticket to day 2 of the Virgin Festival to see them and I think that was 100 bucks or around there.

So I guess total I've spent around $230

I'm gonna estimate about $2500. When i was younger I used to buy every magazine that had a picture/review about them. I bought a SP clock around age 16, come to find out later it read "Smahing Pumpkins." I took a trip out to Atlanta when they cancelled, and went back when they rescheduled. And I was silly enough to shell out money for all 45982 zeitgeist albums.

I would guess about 2000 dollars, if you count travel expences. Just the ticket to that first show in Paris was about 350 dollars. And due to my very annoying habit of never putting my CDs back in their covers, I must have bought siamese dream and mcis about five times each. Plus two other concert tickets, t-shirts, one poster... there is bound to be more stuff. Worth every penny though, when I think about all the good times. And the fact that I've been a fan for twelve years... That means my SP-obsession has only cost me 13 dollars a month.

If only other drugs were that cheap.

yea, but who cares. that was a momentous occasion. i think i spent 350 Euros during that 19 hours I was in Paris.

bottled water at CDG, taxi from CDG to the Rex, lunch, pre-show pints, t-shirt at the show, more pints at the Rex, post-show pints, dinner, more pints, breakfast, some chocolates and an artsy decorative statue for my fiancé, taxi back to CDG.....

Well, and I guess a few Euros for internet access during my layovers in Dublin each way also contributed to that 350.

i just did a quick rough calculation, $376

gish
lull
sd
pisces
mcis
tafh
adore
machina
zeitgeist
solo album

fairfax machina show
solo show fillmore
solo show fillmore
zwan show sf
sp fillmore show
sp fillmore show
poster
poster
poster

that comes to $376, making some guesses

i got the zwan album as a gift, and i didn't pay for tickets to two of the shows i went to, so i didn't list those. i guess if jcc is in there, i got the album and saw a show, so add like another 20 bucks or something

that's not as bad as i thought

oh wait, some shirts too. dang. assuming half were 30 bucks, half were 25 bucks, that puts the total at 564. still not too crazy i guess. i didn't ******* anything like airline tickets to chicago or expenses related to travel to virgina or anything stupid like that, just bucks mister bill would get a taste of

oh, vieuphoria vhs, vieuphoria dvd, greatest hits dvd, add another 40 bucks i guess, so liike 600 bucks or something

oh i bought two of the albums for others as gifts, so like 630.

Btw, the disarm 7" I bought is the purple vinyl edition, is it like rarer than the black vinyl (like the one included in the SD 7" box?)
