Are there any other Siva performances like this one that have a rant?
skipgo 01-29-2008, 09:04 AM my favorite is the acoustic version on the Black Sessions boot. I believe it was the summer of 93 in france; not sure of the exact date. I love it.

mine is a tie between this, and the United Center. though I think I have to give the slight edge to the Black Sessions one
New Art Rioter 01-29-2008, 03:02 PM I'm really really hoping they bring Siva out on the upcoming tour. A revamped version akin to the 2000 version would be fantastic.
Cool As Ice Cream 01-29-2008, 03:14 PM is the one from peel sessions in the competition?
redbull 01-29-2008, 03:55 PM ANYTHING from early '97. Matt takes that song places Jimmy never did. 1/24 and 2/5 are favorites of mine.

the reason 2/5 is so good is because i was standing there up front, encouraging greatness. I did my best.

hummer26 01-30-2008, 05:56 PM I really enjoyed the show in 88 where they played "be strong now" by Iha. What a jam session.

apetulantfrenzy 01-30-2008, 09:53 PM to say matt is somehow better than jimmy at any song is to blaspheme.
stripes 01-30-2008, 10:49 PM ^matt's good though. i like him

i know that the drums are the only way I judge Siva when I hear it....
selection7 01-31-2008, 03:01 AM the reason 2/5 is so good is because i was standing there up front, encouraging greatness. I did my best.
Considering there were thousands of people there I guess it's not exactly a crazy coincidence but... I was there too!
I went in thinking "I think I really like these Smashing Pumpkins" (I had seen them by chance play Lafayette earlier) and left with a profound feeling bordering on religious conversion. Boy, did that concert change my life.
mattisnotfrench 01-31-2008, 10:48 AM to say matt is somehow better than jimmy at any song is to blaspheme.
Matt did pretty well, considering the circumstances. He really shined at "Siva" and a few other songs, and those late '96/early '97 shows are killer.
Reyngel 01-31-2008, 11:27 AM Yeah, obviously Matt isn't up to Jimmy's level, but I thought he did a pretty amazing job. Much better than any of the other replacement drummers.
Listen to Matt's performance on Zero from the Glastonbury show. I have to say, it's one of the few, if not the only time his shit was better than Jimmy's.
