no no no. I don't think I've heard it on zeitgeist at all. But i did hear in on AG, and I hear it live EVERYWHERE. What I meant by the studio singing being worse than the live singing wasn't completely referring to the dropped consonants. I just meant that in general, aside from the consonant issue, he's singing much better in a live setting than he used to, whereas his vocals on cd are not as good (to me) as they were on previous albums. But that's more to do with the way his vocals are so loud, in front of the mix, so dry. The consonant thing I've mostly only heard live though.

Whenever I listen to it, I can just feel his spit splattering all over my face. When he takes a breath it sounds like grating fingernail files on a chalkboard, and I get that feeling that I get when I stick my finger into the opening of a can of pop.

His voice, during that part, for some reason, sounds like a two year old Billy Corgan with progeria affecting not only his body but his voice, who has a cold, runny nose, and was just punched by the class bully.

Such a shame because in the old days the pumpkins were perfect to me. I told everyone that they were perfect and everything they did was mind-blowing, it pretty much was and then these little moments started to appear on record. All of a sudden I recommend the Pumpkins/Billy Corgan to someone they check them out and they're just as likely to hear Pox, Starz Le Deux ex Machina, or hmm alt as they are something mind-blowing as their first listen. It's kind of like a centre forward who averages 30 goals a season for their first 10 seasons and then for their last 8 or 9, they only score10 thus severely damaging their seasonal average over a career. Almost makes me think it's better to burn out than fade.

that line is obviously at least a little tongue in cheek.
problem is, some people are stupid enough to try and take it as poetry.
im sure it does, in some place, reflect a sincere feeling of despising life out of a really inflated bad mood, but it doesnt mean its not also humorous
i think its a great fuckin line

yeah i always thoguht people complaining about that line in jellybelly are just being petty or taking lyrics at a shallow level. within the context of the song it fits in well enough and it comes over one of my favorite guitar riffs on that album

"17" at the end of Adore. It's not even debatably a song, it has no effect, and the actual song it came from was nowhere to be found for years. Bullshit, Billy, Billshit.

any james song, with the exception of blew away and go

SNAP!

I like James's songs, but they don't fit well with Billy's.

Add to that the majority of Gish for me too.

I dont mind 17. It's like a song cut short, and I guess he felt his mum's life was cut short.
