View Full Version : Pastichio Medley
wilch 01-26-2008, 02:26 PM I listened to the whole thing from beginning to end recently without even checking to see how much time was left. The last 6 minutes are the same three notes repeated over and over again. I felt like killing myself.
that is all, continue with whatever you were doing
Frankenstein 01-26-2008, 02:28 PM post the mp3 before you off yourself

1100ww 01-26-2008, 02:35 PM Interestingly, I think that last track is called "Die". If you listen to it completely to the end, you can hear it kick into "XYU" for just a split second, then the CD ends. It's frustrating because you only hear if for an instant, and can't rewind it since the CD stops playing. Turns into XYU, though.
whywontyoulistn 01-26-2008, 03:19 PM I love the bass riff in Zoom. The whole clip is only about 19 seconds long but I can listen to it over and over and over and...
Gutted that a full version has yet to see the light of day, even if it's just a rough demo/extended jam.
I think this kind of topic's come up before...
Mayfuck 01-26-2008, 03:21 PM i like the last 6 minutes in pistachio medley.
cool tones
i_adore_adore 01-26-2008, 04:20 PM I was driven mad by this, too. I usually have all the TAFH discs playing (not at once) while I'm doing homework, and I was distracted by the last six minutes so much that I had to stop what I was doing. I wanted to finish the song, because I dunno... I guess I'm a little OCD or something. But it was so frustrating.
Yeah, good story.
loser2d 01-26-2008, 05:08 PM I just laugh every time I hear the "do the rubberman" part. Even when he is singing it you can tell he wants to crack up or he was having some sort of case of the giggles.
laaazy 01-26-2008, 05:10 PM whole things awesome i think
whered they get the names to all the clips?
anyone think well ever hear the full versions?
pastichio medley is probably my favourite SP song. if not it's top 3.
roamzero 01-26-2008, 06:06 PM Corgan should use the first 10 minutes of the song as a model for the next album. Sure it would be a throwback and based on some tossed-away demos and riffs, but I still think it would be awesome. You can't evolve without reflecting every now and then.
DeviousJ 01-26-2008, 08:05 PM Since there are NOOBS in here I'll post the Gravity Demos link

There's a 320kbps version floating around on Soulseek.
I love "Ugly" from these demos...it's even made it onto the end of my Mellon Collie "LP-style" CD as a bonus track. Not that keen on the official release though...

fuck you. all the clips arent from the gravity demos
i think (hope) everyone has these by now
ben94gt 01-27-2008, 09:34 PM I so badly want to hear all of the "star song" but there is nowhere to find the whole recording. I even asked Billy when I met him in Asheville, but he sighed and didnt answer my question as to when I will ever hear the whole thing.
Rockin' Cherub 01-27-2008, 09:36 PM any minute of pastichio medley is better than any song on zeitgeist

If I had software at home, I could meld the two together. Unfortunately I shrug off work duties to post here.
Now back to editing "The Bangles."
Yee freaking haw.

If you are talking about the part that was played in the early '97 shows, then it was Space Jam, not Zoom.

you just have to be in the correct mood to get the most out of it.

Nope, I'm talking about: Zoom mp3 (http://www.sendawaythetigers.eclipse.co.uk/tsp_zoom128.mp3)
I think Space Jam was mistakenly labelled Zoom at first, but was later corrected. This mp3 is Zoom as far as I know.

This is confusing. I can't listen to it right now because I'm at work.

oops, sorry...fixed now!
unlachs 01-28-2008, 07:25 PM now seems like a good time to get those gravity demos
maybe mashed potatoes too
IWishIWasBlank 01-29-2008, 08:13 AM Zoom was always one of my favorites... now that I listen to the sample here. Huh... I guess I should meticulously listen to all 1,329 samples again and give some better input here.
xezton 01-29-2008, 08:47 AM Weird.
Zoom just sounds like Metallica to me.
