My roommate has a big role in the production of the game. He asked me to pick a few Pumpkin songs to submit for the tracks that will be in the next guitar hero game. Apparently for a song to be in the game, all the master copies must be around and word is that the pumpkins were meticulous about keeping master's of their recordings.

I told him Soma, I Am One and Thru the Eyes of Ruby.

Anyone else have a strong feeling about what songs should be in the game. Keep in mind that drums might be part of it?

I could see Tarantula being a good Guitar Hero song, for the general public's sake. I just wouldn't get the same satisfaction out of it than I would with Soma or Geek USA. Quiet would kick ass too.

It seems like Guitar Hero generally puts singles (or at least famous songs) on the game, and not obscure songs, so I'd have to go with Zero, Rocket, or Tarantula.

Of the more obscure songs, I'd have to go with Silverfuck, Geek USA, Quiet, or Bury Me

well i have actually thought before that here is no why would work fairly well in one of those guitar video games. it really has everything. fast little passage in the verse, rawks hard, awesome solo, so yes here is no why is a good choice.

Tarantula: Could work well on various difficulty settings. Not sure how the harmonics would work.

Rocket: Would be a lot of fun, great lead parts.

My roommate says Neversoft is most interested in BWBW (they wanted that for GH3 instead of Cherub Rock) but they consider all submissions seriously. I'd personally love for Soma to get in, but my roommate has a feeling it will be too long.

PLEASE NOT BWBW!!!! Geek USA has a great solo, slow down part, bass "solo" amazing drums...Second choice: Drown.

The end guitar in Hello Kitty Kat, where after all the hard rocking the song blows your fucking head off, is pretty much what guitar hero was made for. Like the soloing at the end of Bark at the Moon in the first game. Actually the end of Bury Me would have the same idea, but I think I like Kitty Kat more.

Failing that go for Tales of a Scorched Earth (the bit where you'll inevitably have to suddenly hit a bunch of sustained notes together and keep the distortion going in the whores and fags bit would be awesome). It would scare the shit out of people.

I guess Bullet is probably one of their most well-known songs, but unlike Cherub Rock, I don't think it's a great track for Guitar Hero.

Whether or not you like Tarantula, it's got Guitar Hero written all over it.
