andrew had never met them before and he got a vip pass for a show at toronto vfest i think. they basically just said hi to him but refused to do any photos or autographs.

i can't think of any decision that was made without criticism. such is the position which corgan stands. everytime you hear him talk in person its just like "i can't make everyone happy, there'll always be songs i should and shouldn't play and things i should and shouldn't do/have done."

some "mistakes" seem obvious to us, but be that as it may, i couldn't blame corgan for thinking "ugh just fuck it im doing this and i can't win. the best i can do is believe in it."

as for the specific image chosen for the cover yeah it wasn't the best, but like it or not at least the machina artwork was well crafted and didn't look like an average 16 year old with a few years of photoshop under their belt cooked it up
