View Full Version : Billy: How weird can I possibly be?

Catherine Wheel

Does it ever seem like Billy is consciouly trying to be strange and eccentric? Like it's an act? At some point it became a trick up his sleave.

I think about the clothes that he was wearing duing Gish and Siamese Dream. Then I think about the clothes he was wearing after that. It's a huge transition. It seems more contrived. The whole image especially during Mellon Collie and Machina seems contrived.

He definatly created an act and than became that act from doing it over the years. Now that's really him.

I second that bet.

Anyway, I wonder what Billy is like when he's high. I'v not tried acid (cause I'm a pussy), but drugs are of course mood and personality altering. I wonder what personality traits gets more, uh, visible, when he's high. Most people are unbearable when they're on coke (unless your on coke with them) and I can only imagine what Billy would be like, him having such a strong personality and all.

Sicilian parmegianna uses grated Pecorino cheese (cured sheep cheese) instead of mozzarela or parmesan, and it is almost always made with eggplant. Prosciutto (cured ham) is also used along with the ground meat. Sicilians also use basil.

I'm going to cook this for dinner, and invite some friends over.

sounds really good. fancy cheeses can get so pricey! prosciutto is great. there's an awesome italian import store near my house, it's on the way home from work which can be a good or bad thing! i really want to make something like that- but it'll have to wait. my big cooking adventure this week will be enchilladas, i already gave my word i'd make them. maybe i'll do homemade salsa w/ extra cilantro too (god i'm so hungry  )

There's that damn spider again ((((((:())))))

When I see that picture, all I can imagine is how bad Billy's breath probably is. I've never met him and he probably has impeccable breath, but for some reason that's all I can think of when I look at that picture.

His image does seem contrived. I don't think he ever seriously follows through with his eccentricity in real life off the stage situations. The only time this may have been true would be around Gish, SD. But even then it seems like an act.

But if he weren't Billy Corgan, he'd still just be that one weird guy who writes decent songs.

This and who would ever want to put their real selves out there? It only makes sense to make some alter ego for people to mock when you're guaranteed harsh criticism. Sure, there are some that don't put up a personality shield and just take it, but there are so many others who would rather their fake double take all the shit.

Billy's eccentricity is comepletely genuine.
For one thing, if one were to concoct a more "presentable" persona for public/performance purposes (as has been suggested), why the in the hell would they choose to create one which is rather awkward and often undeliberately goofy at best? The very choices he makes are, in and of themselves, telling marks of eccentricity.
The only caveat I have to this is that Billy sometimes seems a bit preoccupied with presenting himself as a "proper artist" in terms of trying a little too hard to make some kind of artistic statement for its own stake, or to put on airs of studied intellectuality. (Type up a non-convoluted "message to fans" for just once, FFS! No one gives a crap about your meandering and opaque metaphysical ramblings.)
