View Full Version : Drawings of the cloverfield monster by fans who saw screenings of it
Floppy Nono 01-13-2008, 11:34 PM potential spoilers, don't scroll down if you want to be surprised (though who knows, you might still be)
It was also noted that the first one is the one closest to the actual monster.

Floppy Nono 01-13-2008, 11:44 PM number 3 looks like the american Godzilla crossed with Biollante (a plant/godzilla hybrid the japanese one did battle with in the 90's)

Disappointing.
agreed.
although, at first glance, the second one looks like it's got some cock action going on
monkeyfritters 01-13-2008, 11:59 PM why does it have a ballsack on its face?
monkeyfritters 01-14-2008, 12:00 AM why dont i?
Floppy Nono 01-14-2008, 12:06 AM This is seriously as disappointing as when i saw the American Godzilla for the first time. Of course, Godzilla had more meaning to me, being a fan since i was young, but this feels just as bad because it doesn't really seem like anything new. Just a mutant Iguana mixed with a T-Rex. I guess i just had too high hopes but i suppose it's not the worst it could have been.
Mouths of Babes 01-14-2008, 02:25 AM Can you make a drawing of a monster you would not have found disapppointing?
Floppy Nono 01-14-2008, 02:29 AM no, it's impossible to make a good kaiju flick in america. I could never come up with anything half decent. I just wish they'd just put a little more thought into it than just that thing. Who knows though, it could look totally epic in the movie.

Floppy Nono 01-14-2008, 02:40 AM honestly, the most interesting thing about this monster is that it seems to have a smaller pair of forearms closer to its body. that is something that really intrigues me.
The giant forearms remind me of Orga from Godzilla 2000.

edit: i just looked up those quote, i guess it explains it for me.
"...conceived of a new monster after he and his son visited a toy store in Japan. He explained, "We saw all these Godzilla toys, and I thought, we need our own monster, and not King Kong, King Kong's adorable. I wanted something that was just insane and intense."

Are you as disappointed with not being able to see the goddamn movie as is the right of a paying customer to do? Why not join the Netphorian fun and post about how much you hate Cloverfield? The Jesus 04-05-2008, 06:02 PM I watched the film tonight for the first time. 7.5/10.
wpc33 04-05-2008, 08:23 PM I thought it was a great suspense-thriller.
I lol'd at people who complained about the handicam-nature of the flick. Like they didn't know, going in.
Floppy Nono 04-05-2008, 08:31 PM i don't know if it was the fact that they didn't know but rather the fact that it made them nauseous...some theaters actually had barfbags and warnings for it and when i saw it i could hear people puking in the bathroom when i had to piss.
JapanAlex 04-05-2008, 08:34 PM lol wusses
JokeyLoki 04-05-2008, 08:37 PM I puked :p But I didn't complain about it, I pretty much knew that was going to happen. It didn't help that we ate crappy mexican food beforehand, and the theater was like 80 degrees.
I hope they make another one...
dean_r_koontz 04-05-2008, 08:53 PM first ten minutes : 1/10.

yeah, that was awesome
dean_r_koontz 04-05-2008, 10:04 PM i would follow rob into a certain death without blinking
The Jesus 04-05-2008, 10:41 PM For those that like monster movies, may I recommend a South Korean film called Gwoemul (released as "The Host" in English speaking countries).
