Future Boy 01-13-2008, 07:43 PM what is this? skipgo 01-13-2008, 07:48 PM what is this? you mean coat of eyes? i guess it was a band billy was in that eventually became the marked. it's pretty awful. IWishIWasBlank 01-14-2008, 08:20 AM No, actually it's really awful. BTW, IAA, I remember arguing in a thread about how much I hated Adore, and we eventually resolved our differences and ate cake. I also heard you play a cover, and it was good. Sometimes I almost get inspired enough to put down this "Mighty Joint" (see left) and pick up my bass again. "Wow, that's one terriffic bass." - Lorraine Newman skipgo 01-14-2008, 08:45 AM pick up that bass! stick your mighty joint in the strings like eric clapton. Of course you'll need a big bass to accommodate that fatty. byebyejune 01-14-2008, 08:57 AM this is something i have never heard of, no hope of it becoming a guilty pleasure though.. they all sound like cheesy midi cell phone rings! smashkin33 01-14-2008, 08:58 AM super find skiparoo, i sure hope they accept my friend request! xezton 01-14-2008, 09:00 AM Wow. I always love going back and listening to Billy's old old old stuff. It reminds me of how we all suck at everything until we focus on it. Even some rockstars sucked before they were famous. Really gives you hope if you think you fail at everything. Moral of the story: if you suck at something, but you love it, keep doing it and eventually you will be pretty good at it... sometimes you'll become famous. But try not to write Zeitgeist and American Gothic. reprise85 01-14-2008, 09:03 AM i hope they release the whole tape. sure it sucks, but everyone has to start somewhere smashkin33 01-14-2008, 09:11 AM tape. i don't own a tape player anymore! skipgo 01-14-2008, 09:16 AM i came across this after ron roesing sent me a friend request. If you click on the page of the guy who's singing, he has a mayonaise cover, and it says something like, 'how it could've sounded". His voice sounds pretty much the same as it did on these old demos. well here, hear it for yourself: http://www.myspace.com/gregbatesmusic reprise85 01-14-2008, 09:37 AM he still sucks, sorry greg. his voice is barely OK and the guitar playing sounds like shit. i cant play guitar for 6 weeks :( reprise85 01-14-2008, 09:38 AM HAHA i just got to the solo in mayonaise... holy LOL skipgo 01-14-2008, 09:49 AM what's up with all of these former corgan bandmates putting out all of these old videos and tapes recently? first hexen, now this. These poor guys, "hey, i'm not famous, but i used to play with a famous guy!" (who am i kidding, I'm sure I'd do the same... i do namedrop my neutral milk hotel connection when i get the chance) (<----- see, i did it right there). It's interesting that he's pretty much bounced back and forth between metal and electronic/new wavish stuff ever since he started playing, and he's still doing so today. Well, i don't know if it's interesting, but yeah, there it is. ??? 01-14-2008, 09:56 AM All We Know is sweet the sellout 01-14-2008, 10:43 AM say Skipgo, what's your NMH connection? ??? 01-14-2008, 11:21 AM skipgo has an NMH connection? skipgo 01-14-2008, 11:36 AM jeff mangum is a friend of mine from college, and i lived with scott spillane who's also in the band. (or he was when it was still a band, that is). google "shannon's monroe demos". (i'm that shannon, yep) I'm good friends with a lot of those elephant six people; at least the ones who lived in louisiana before becoming well-known. those guys are swell. reprise85 01-14-2008, 11:48 AM you famous bitch skipgo 01-14-2008, 11:50 AM haha! xezton 01-14-2008, 12:13 PM you famous bitch! i_adore_adore 01-14-2008, 03:00 PM BTW, IAA, I remember arguing in a thread about how much I hated Adore, and we eventually resolved our differences and ate cake. I also heard you play a cover, and it was good. Sometimes I almost get inspired enough to put down this "Mighty Joint" (see left) and pick up my bass again. That wasn't you, was it? I thought I only ever argued with that hummer fellow. But I'll take your word for it. Cake it is :) |
