View Full Version : Question about Japanese Machina CD

Is the version of Speed Kills on the Japanese pressing of Machina the same as the version on the Stand Inside Your Love single? Or is it an edit?

The reason I ask is because of this semi-contradictory passage (from the ever-reliable Wikipedia):

"Some releases—namely, European and Asian Hut Records versions, and all vinyl editions—have an added track, "Speed Kills". This version of "Speed Kills" is not the Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music version, but the version that appears on the "Stand Inside Your Love" single. On the international CDs, the song is edited to a cut nearly two minutes shorter than the original..."

that is correct.

where's the contradiction?

It's just a bit unclear. It says the version on the Jap Machina is the same as the SIYL version, then says that it's an edit. I wanted to confirm that it was in fact an edited version on the Jap CD.

I have no idea how they could cut SK down to 3 mins without totally butchering the song...

ps. The SIYL version is much better than the Machina II version IMHO.
