you're out of your fucking mind. the studio Home is easily one of the five best things the band has ever done.

I don't know about that, but Home is certainly a tremendous song. Of all of the material on Machina II, I would most like to have a high quality studio recording of this song. Sometimes I feel that during the climax of the song the low quality robs the song of the full emotional impact when Corgan sings over and over, "love is everything I want".

Vanity's pretty fucking great, too.

Never understood why 2 versions of Glass' Theme were included on Machina II. It makes me look at it less like an album (or collection of EPs) and more like a collection of B sides which didn't seem like the intent from the outset. Odd choice but I guess ours is not to question these things.

putting an alternate version of a machina song (blue skies) on the machina 2 LP, instead of slow dawn, vanity or lucky 13, none of which appear even as machina b-sides is a puzzler.

of course, the version of atom bomb that appears on the LP is a machina b-side also.

some of the material on M2 is up there among the pumpkins' best work ever.
i dont think i know of any other album, though, that has such awe insiring great material on the one hand, and fucking inane shit like HMM alt version on the other hand.

still though, some brilliant songs. i dont care what you might say about the production -
when a song is good, then a song is good no matter what you do with it.
and some of those songs are really good.

Home is one of the few songs from that era that I really enjoy. It was cool seeing it live and it was pretty nice acoustic.

Home was beautiful when I saw it live, and it's one of my favorite MII songs. I'm glad they're playing it :)

And I'd like to hear them bust out "Vanity" or "Slow Dawn," too.

I was absolutely amazed that they tore out Home for the tour. Sadly, they did not play it in Atlanta. Now if they would only play the original version of Here's to the Atom Bomb.

The one that was on the single for Try, Try, Try; the "new wave" version from Machina II is pathetic. That was a horrible way to end an otherwise amazing album.

every top 5 list needs an Adore representative. could be To Shelia, Ava Adore, For Martha, or Blank Page I guess.

no way dude.

as for home - one of the best machina-era songs; not top 5 for the band, maybe top 15.

I forgot Home until I heard it 10/2/07, St. Paul...

Then I remembered why I forgot it. Totally unnoteworthy and mildly boring.
