as odd as it seems, there seems to be some sort of pull that drives people to do this sort of thing when it comes to SP
i really dont' understand it either
but people ask me to listen to their SP covers.. never other bands.

Billy!!!! look what you've done
these boys all feel that if they sing your songs it'll show their emotions!

i find it super interesting how "covers" show how people listen to songs differently then me
the rhythm of the riff in cherub rock is not quite how i "know" it to be
subtle differences i admit (like queen under pressure & vanilla ice "ice ice baby")

youtube "1979 cover" and not one person plays it the same way
lol.

I guess these guys don't understand that a "cover" doesn't mean "impression".

I bet if he would have just sung the song in his normal voice it would have been at least "ok" and his friend may not have been chomping at the bit to turn the camera off.

I can only imagine the scene afterwards:

Singer: Dude that was SO awesome.
Cera: Yeah... it was ok.. I guess.
Singer: We should TOTALLY put that on YouTube.
Cera: YouTube! Great...! Wiat... No. Mayber later? My internet connection isn't working.
Singer: No dude, seriously, here, let me use your computer so I can upload this perfection.
(Singer sits down at computer and goes to YouTube while Cera failingly attempts to stop him.)
Singer: Alright, SWEET. People are gonna think we're so awesome!!!
(Cera slaps forhead, eyes wide and mouth agape wondering what he has just done.)

Fuck man. Y'know, I loves me some intarwebs but this hurts my soul. Honestly... what goes through your mind when they hit the "upload my video" button?

And has anyone EVER seen a cover of a SP song played by anyone that doesn't look like a complete smack tard? And how come everyone you ever see on the street wearing a Pumpkins shirt looks like a backward ass fucking loser? Its made me stop wearing them in public 'cause I don't have any Doc Martens to wear to complete the look.

We gotta get a thread going with the worst possible covers made especially by netphorians. I think it would be hard to top that last Bodies guy with the awesome 'verb on his voice. It reminds me of the zooming text written in classic YTMNDs.

Edit: This is just speculation..but they don't seem like they listen to the pumpkins a whole lot, so they obv. don't know too much about Billy. That makes so much funnier to me for some reason...

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9xGP8Uu5M1g&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9xGP8Uu5M1g&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
