about the song itself, and others with similar orchestral arrangements: does billy get session musicians to play on each of these or does he play any of those instruments himself, because i don't always see additional musicians credited for things like strings or percussion, or whatever else (eg christmastime has some flute in it)
wpc33 12-24-2007, 06:44 PM it's "Christmastime". One word. In any context.
Professor Fox 12-24-2007, 08:02 PM I've always liked how the pumpkins approached projects like this. If were Blink 182, you would just get a power chorded version of deck the halls.

projects plural??
Professor Fox 12-24-2007, 11:04 PM projects plural??
yeah.
e.g. (Glynis - No Alternative, Eye - Lost Highway)
Some of the god awful songs on 'a very special christmas 3' were designed to merely fulfill the typical expectations of their respective genres. (e.g. "oi to the world" by No Doubt) I've always felt that the pumpkins took the high road by creating something invariably more inventive than the given expectations when they could have simply released 'bullet with butterfly wings 2' with Christmas related lyrics.

your posts read way better with a Mr. Belvedere accent, ya flowery mofo
Sarcastic Smile 12-25-2007, 02:31 AM I never noticed how Billy tilts his hips forward in that photo, it's like he's a real super model.
emotionalfriend 12-25-2007, 07:10 AM i heard this at Toys R Us the other day while shopping for my daughter. i laughed out loud, and the old people next to me looked at me like I was a bit odd

Now that is quite funny.

You do know this is a Vandals song and it's pretty much a straight forward cover right? Nevermind that they are both from Southern California and have loaned each other band members.
ravenguy2000 12-25-2007, 11:27 AM I hear Christmastime in stores all the time, it's not that weird.

i don't think those are real musicians in Christmastime.
AnnMarie727 12-25-2007, 12:04 PM sugary :)
chris1979 12-26-2007, 03:45 AM This song is actually very popular. I even heard it as background music in department stores around Christmas and on mainstream Radio.
