View Full Version : SP mentioned in KISS dvd commentary
wpc33 12-23-2007, 10:11 PM On the dvd called Kissology vol. 3, there's the 10/31/98 KISS show, that SP opened. No Pumpkins footage, but in the commentary, Gene Simmons blurbs Billy & co.
"...for a second, people thought The Beatles got up and started playing, and it wound up being Billy Corgan and Smashing Pumpkins looking like The Beatles, who eventually played a set right in the middle. And that happened because we tracked him down at a Smashing Pumpkins event, cornered him without his managers and said, "Do you wanna open up for us? You're gonna get zero. D'ya wanna have some fun? You can open for us at Dodger Stadium." He went, right there on the spot, "We're there."
Diamond Dream 12-23-2007, 10:30 PM Is there any vids or pics from that show?

well it figures he wouldn't be like, "Hang on...let me check and make sure it's OK with the other band members."

i'm not sure he's ever done that. Except with *maybe* Jimmy. And Jimmy wasn't in the band at that point.

Lorenzo 12-24-2007, 04:08 AM That was my first Pumpkins show. Kiss sucked.

darcyismybass 12-24-2007, 04:37 AM Billy's the Boss, get over it.
Springsteen's the Boss, get it right.
Also, seeing as how James likes Kiss, I'm sure he didn't mind...he probably convinced D'arcy, too.

I liked James' 'do. Similar to the VH1 fashion awards.
I have an AUD of that whole set, and it was awesome. I hope a SBD leaks someday

I thought they debut'ed Cash Car Star on live TV. Saw it on Fox. Remember some guy from Mad TV announcing the name incorrectly. Same performance? That can't be right...

even in a land where no money exists, some people were just born to boss.
like tony danza
IWishIWasBlank 12-24-2007, 02:26 PM OK. I didn't realize it was a "Kiss Halloween Special." All I could remember was the mispronounciation and Kenny Aranoff in those goofy ass glasses. Fuckin' Mark McGuire arms on him too.
