Been watching it and they have already covered 100-41. I haven't seen a band have a duplicate song yet. I find it hard to believe that each group featured will only have one song.

Anyways, I'm guessing either BWBW or Tonight, Tonight will somehow make the top 40. Or am I living in dream world.

You know, you can look at the list online to save yourself some time.

Should I spoil the surprise for you?

No, they don't make the list.

Can't believe that not a single artist could get 2 top 100 songs. If they did this for the 60s, the Beatles would probably have about 20 in the top 100.

dude. that's pretty fucked up. I've been watching that too. How the fuck does Today or 1979 get left off this list? The new radicals? duncan sheik? collective fucking soul? What idiot made this list? Say what you will about the current SP, but the 1990s SP was definitely one of the most important bands of the decade, and this is even without my obvious bias. :noway:

I think it's just a result of them trying to make the list a nice mix. It's not really a matter of being pushed of the list by the pop entries, it's more like "We have 50 alternative rock songs on the list, who can we get rid of to make room for other types of artists." Also after working in a bar 2 years with a massive juke box that will play any almost any song ever recorded I can tell 99% of the world is into shitty music. I've heard the pumpkins once in 2 years but I hear The New Radicals everyday.

my husband watches all of the worst shit on television. I'm subjected to tila tequila, i love new york, rock of love (ok that one was actually entertaining), etc etc etc. He's actually a really intelligent guy with otherwise decent taste. I'm pretty sure he watches all of this stuff for the boobs.

when they were talking about what a great band matchbox 20 is, i wanted to puke. But they made fun of collective soul ("they looked in a magazine and saw what eddie vedder was wearing and said, 'get me some flannel'"), so it balanced out.

Lists should never be put on TV if the public votes for it. I remember years ago muchmusic had a 100 best videos of all time list on new years day, which people voted for on their website. The top five songs were all by backstreet boys, and #1 was their video which had been released for about a week.

this list is pure bullshit. As a person who lived throughout the whole decade, I will say this, tonight tonight should have been on that list . This was the same video that won 8 FUCKING VMAS, the pumpkins were arguably the biggest band of 1996 (Either them or Oasis, make your pick), and mellon collie was one of the staple records of the mid 90s (Hell it was nominated for album of the year for god sakes, not many alternative albums up to that point were nominated for such category). this list is a joke anyways, and I bet they omitted them off the list on purpose....besides nomody even remembers half of the shit on that list, yet the pumpkins are still credible to this very day.

you know, even though of course id ******* the pumpkins in a list like this of my own, all these songs are songs that seemingly define those bands during the 90s. nirvana and radiohead are my two favorite bands but people would be quick to label slts and creep to both of them despite their other amazing songs in the 90s. the pumpkins dont really have a specific song you can label on them. i guess you could say bwbw, but today and tonight tonight are two others that people could argue. it almost feels thats a factor that left them off the list, the fact that you couldnt just label them with one song and be done with it.

and vh1 sucks
