the milsteads dad: you do not call your son a failure. you do not physically or verbally abuse your kids. if there was a parenting test that every person who wanted to get kids had to take, you would FAIL miserably.

dean_r_koontz
12-09-2007, 01:33 PM
there are loads of evidence that show how abusive parents alter the transcription patterns of different genes in the brains of their children. scarred for life is not really just a saying that sounds cool, it's actually true. you get adults who have very low amounts of an enzyme called MAO for example. this enzyme breaks down dopamine in the brain and people who have low levels of the enzyme are much more likely to have problems with aggressive behavior, drugs, a decrease in the ability to plan ahead etc. that's only one possible outcome. should we make a themilstead dad suck and themilstead mom also suck because she's stayed with this asshole thread?

woah. that was sad.

some parents are not good ones. but what are you gonna do.

when they get all weird and angry you just have to try your best not let it get inside of you and get the best of you. so you save all your energy for making yourself better and stronger. depending on how awful your parent or parents are, this can be quite tricky.

when people loose their grip it's often best to just sit back and enjoy the show, until they can talk like a normal person. and then sometimes they can't talk like a normal person or act like a respectable human bieng, so you just dont talk to them at all until they can. it's sad. but you have to protect yourself. even and sometimes most importantly (sad but sometimes ture) from your parents!

i put water into a fresh set of trays and wait anxiously. i can't help but check the freezer every 5 minutes to see if they're ready. just talking about this makes me want to light a few candles, take all my clothes off, and just lay around eating ice all afternoon with a box fan drying the summer sweat off my body.

the second best part to the orgasmic release of the cold water is the anticipation. the fore-play, if you will. looking down at that perfectly formed cube with the little bubble inside... the pleasure that awaits. thinking you are prepared, but knowing full well that as soon as you bite into that cube you will experience earthquaking joy the likes of which angels sing about in the heavens.

god.

exactlythesame

I know I'm addicted to ice when...

I flirt with the waiter at a restaurant just to get a Huge To go cup of ice

I fight my friends (literally) for throwing my ice away

I eat ice first thing in the morning or as a meal for the day

I eat ice in 25 degree weather outside and I can't feel my fingers

I can't go to sleep without eating six trays of ice (everynite, no joke)

I have dreams that my teeth are gonna fall out from chewing ice and I still dont stop eating it

I'd rather eat ice than food

I sneak and chew ice while I'm on the phone

I told my mom she couldnt have any ice to cool her drink ( and I had a huge 5lb bag)

This can go on and on...

<deargod>

TheMilstead

Yahoooooo,

I love ice.......now I also feel like I am not crazzzzyyy.

My husband actually came across the site. He was looking up info on how chewing ice ruins your teeth. We had a bet. Anyway...Just about anything ruins teeth. He keeps telling me to quit chewing ice....Yes I am one of those that get mad Mad when all the ice from the ice maker is gone. I started to have ice trays filled for back up. and i love to eat the ice the overflows in the freeze from the ice trays . It is thin and white... yummy. I get up in the middle of the night and open the freeze and stand there for anbout 10 minutes chewing ice..than head back to bed. I like also to let my ice sit so it softens just a bit, but I already have my favorite places to buy ice from the is soft. I had this habit now for about 1 year to 1 1/2 years and I never figured there was a problem. In the past I have been anemic, but has far as i know, the iron is good now. I'm still searching...maybe it is that pica thing or over compulsive disorder...anyone out there hear of something different?

I can't believe this is a serious problem for some people.
