other than the version in the gravity demos, is there a studio recording of Speed available or even in existence?

You can hear a clip of a different version in the Pastichio Medley. Who knows what state of completion it reached though, or even how many different recorded versions/rehearsals there are.

There's an okay quality live version from the Double Door shows that you might not have. It has lyrics and all; which leads me to believe there exists a recording of it somewhere
