The DVD has a great vintage performance from Smashing Pumpkins as well as an interview from Joe (owner of Metro) about the band.
I'm not sure which date it is. If that DVD has been around for a while, maybe it's already circulating?

Here's a CD handed out at the last metro show, but it's a CD of the first metro show, from 1988. One of his other items.

Also: The above-listed DVD says "vintage" performance. Could be a pretty old performance. Like 1988.

Anyone curious, this was a giveaway from Metro's 20th anniversary party 5 years ago. Nicely put together, nice gift, but the party itself was pretty great. Open bar all night, had a bunch of videos looping on a screen on stage, including some sp, but nothing that hadn't been seen before, if I remember.

Oh, and that other SP band too. I bet there is a lot of JBTV sourced footage (as in Jerry Bryant gave them access to his tapes). 90% of the time when he shows live footage, he did it himself at Metro.

so i got some more info about this...

i was told that metro stocks/sells these every once in a while at the metro store next door above smart bar, but they don't currently have any. they also don't have any info as to when they'll restock, but i was told they definitely get a handful from time to time to sell at the store. :think: maybe joe's got a box full, or gets them made on-demand....who knows. they sold some during the 25th anniversary shows, recently.

anyway, thanks again for the rip bram. as you know this was my first SP show and its great to have that performance in dvd quality. i guess there's a tape quality one out there better than what i have according to what people are saying in this thread. i bought a bootleg tape that has this and part of the 12-10-93 show....but its warn out pretty bad. lots of hiss and tracking issues and shit.

that's all there is about the pumpkins on this dvd. it's just the little intro, and then quiet from 1993-08-14.

the chapters on the dvd aren't done perfectly, because at the end, you can see the start of the next chapter, being some guy explaining why he is security, but not a bouncer. :p

I noticed that at the beginning of this clip, they zoom in on a flyer/poster for the two Janes Addiction shows at the Cabaret Metro in 1988. According to this, the Pumpkins only played at one of the two nights.

Was there still question about this, or was this whole November 23/25 issue already resolved?
