These have stood the test of time:

Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream (/MCIS - for the sake of not mentioning several albums by the same artist)

Radiohead - The Bends (/Ok Computer/Kid A)

Jeff Buckley - Grace

Weezer - The Blue Album (Depends on the day whether I prefer this or Pinkerton. Today it's Blue)

Suede - Dog Man Star (/Coming Up/Sci-fi Lullabies - Richard Oakes > Bernard Butler IMO yet DMS is DMS)

Portishead - Portishead (/Dummy - Dummy seems to be the one enjoying the classic status out of the two, but to me the melancholic goodness of s/t owns all)

Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine (One hell of an album. Has not dated a day in 15 years. Solid from start to finish)

Tool - Ænima (/Lateralus - As with Weezer, it depends on the day which one I prefer. I'm amazed how It seems to be a hip thing to despise Tool around these boards. I doubt it has much to do with the music itself)

Elliott Smith - XO (/Either/Or)

Bill Hicks - Rant in E-Minor (Comedy instead of music, but the title said "top albums" and this is an album so what the heck. Great, great comedian)

even so, zeppelin is so good that everything through physical graffiti could be argued as being their best album because they all have such stellar tracks.

I will never understand why Pink Moon is basically everyone's favourite Nick Drake album. To me Five Leaves Left is where it's at. Come to think of it, I should've *******d it on my list.

Really?

Well to me, it has quite possibly their best album opener (Whole Lotta Love) and closer (Bring It On Home), not to mention probably my favorite zep song of all time, Ramble On.

Every song on II is great though. I don't think there is a single weak track on it.

I don't think there is a single weak track on it.
I disagree. If Since I've Been Loving You had been on there instead of Whole Lotta Love, as originally intended, it would have been possibly the best LZ album.

fuckin' devy fan in here?
Indeed, though a recent one and I'm missing a lot of his albums. What's your favourite release?

how about Beck - Sea Change?

def in my top 10

Meh. . . It's a good album but there is better stuff in that genre like Elliot Smith and Nick Drake. Beck's best stuff is his crazier genre bending albums like Odelay and Midnight Vultures

the final cut :erm:

Yeah, for me it's deeply affecting. Raw and honest songwriting and performance.
I'm aware that it's widely derided.

...and take that look off your face.

by the way i think sea change is one of the most boring albums ever made. after the first two tracks it's just dull.

I think it's pretty nice, though I do have to be in the right mood to listen to it or else I put on something else after three or four songs.

Magical Mystery Tour - Beatles

Out of all the Beatles' material, why this one?
