I'm not really sure...

I'd like to say being able to talk to other Pumpkins fans, however, most of the people here really aren't fans.

I love it for all the wrong reasons. The negativity, the bile and vitriol, the piss and vinegar. The smartasses. i like talking about that band everyone here talks about, i like gushing over them and making fun of them all at once. I like being an asshole to people sometimes, it's therapeutic. and I love Esty too.

People are much more frank on these things, there are people from all over the world, its interesting to learn about their thoughts. I've learnt quite a bit on here because some posters are incredibly well informed and articulate. Some posters are pretty funny, its a gentle wake-up to the day.

Thats sad, assuming you want friends. How did that happen? You cant be that socially retarded.

It's a safe haven. A place to escape everything I should really do. People respect me here, unlike in real life.

eh, i commute to school. and i invest a lot of time into my relationship (see how often do you get laid? thread for the bitter irony and get your lols) and other personal pursuits. their aren't really to many people my age with similar interests out here in the suburbs.

I dont know how old you are, but if you are under 18, you are probably doing something similar to my friend a few years back, he was in a long term relationship since he was 13 and until he was 18, he never ever came out or did anything with his friends after school and he said it was his biggest regret so far. He broke up with her and found that he'd missed out on so much. Of course, your situation may be entirely different, and im not exactly wise, but i thought i'd throw it out there.

I had to travel about an hour to school, it definitely sucked, i see what you mean. What do americans do for like the pub?

how do pubs differ from bars? i thought they were the same, but maybe i'm wrong.

BumbleBeeMouth
10-22-2007, 04:05 PM
In a true pub, there wouldnt be a dancefloor. Unless you kicked over the tables and danced an irish jig. There is less razzamatazz in a pub, perhaps im not familiar enough with american drinking culture but i cant imagine going for a nice quiet sunday pint in a bar, while watching the cricket or a football game. Can you play darts and pool in a bar? Have you got time to talk to the barmaid?

ok, i see what you mean. yes, i'd much rather be at a pub than a bar. I would say that we do have them, they're just not as dominant as bars. I've been to several such "pub-like" bars, an intimate place to spend time with your friends rather than an obnoxious meat market. Though that has it's place as well i suppose

Trotskilicious
10-22-2007, 05:01 PM
so you mean that dive i go to down the street is a pub, not a bar.

i always defined pubs as having a finished wood motif. Much like in your picture. Every bar/pub/dive has a pool table and darts and if it doesn't, I don't really go there.

Its short for public house, so they used to be just that. Houses. I think you are pretty anglosmart trotsky so you know what i mean.
